Even though I feel slightly more confident at Freelancer, Colorado is just the worst map of them all. I’ve never had a problem with the Hostility of the whole map in the general game but in Freelancer, it’s just feels a lot more brutal.
Everything is open and paired with this AI who seem to have eagle eyes, it’s just a tough map to forge through.
Some quick thoughts.
I thought the main game was great, and Freelancer is an improvement! Add a little more story and this mode surpasses the main game for me. Yes there’s a learning curve, I failed a couple of campaigns but it was my own fault not the game’s.
2 things I would like IO to consider improving. First, I shouldn’t have to stand 2 feet away from the suspect to see the earrings under the hair or the tattoo peeking out from shirt. The tells are fine, but stick to hair color and hats, sunglasses, and maybe implement clothing. It breaks the immersion when I have to get so close. I should be able to spy on them from unobservible distances.
Second, and more important to me, make the weapon storage containers ingame send/save weapons to safehouse. If you fail, you still lose money and tools, but if I take a sniper rifle to Sapienza with 4 targets only to find out they’re all indoors, I should be able to store the sniper rifle and not have to carry it around the whole level. It’s dumb. Same goes for any weapon stored in a suitcase, as well as collectable items like the katana or mace. Just make an ICA specific container that ships back to safehouse.
I haven’t yet encountered a tattoo that I couldn’t readily see, but the earring thing is an absolute pet peeve at this point. A tiny stud earring that you can only see from a specific angle and is only on one side is ridiculous.
Also, Bald AND wearing a hat (but with a beard…does that count as hair or not?)?
Andy = heartbroken at RNG objective to kill guards with an assault rifle
Jane = buys Professional Screwdriver from Supplier, quits mode as she has earned all desired unlocks
Mike = playstyle completely unchanged, but YOLO literally means that now
Just unlocked the Golden Contender Suit and am loving it, the only issue is I feel like its inventory image doesn’t do the the suit proper justice. I know that earlier in development the jacket wasn’t as shiny and golden and its image is a leftover from then. Hopefully they update the image in the next patch whenever that is
The biggest difference I’ve seen is, Legendary items take up less gear slots. All of the Legendary items I currently have only take up 1 slot (2 slots for my Sieger 300 Ghost Sniper rifle).
I wish there were leg arm hand tattoos and Diana would tell you which but having another wouldn’t rule that person out. It would feel a bit more real and at least tell me where I’m looking for this tattoo. I feel like IRL she would know where the tattoo is and maybe even what it is of.
But I can’t get the kill without the assassin being in the way.
Suddenly I need close the game and go but I didn’t want to close the game and lose all my progress since it was a showdown. So I just shoot her…but…she’s not the target.
Now I have 5 minutes to leave and 5 suspects to find.
I shoot 1 in the head somewhat isolated but someone sees it through the glass, but that’s not the target. I shoot another suspect from afar headshot, and again that’s not the target. Guards and a lookout see and it causes the real target to start to flee. I flip on instinct to locate the target… finally finding her, and guess where shes going?
My perfect broken plan becomes perfectly perfect. lol hahaha. I couldn’t stop laughing how it just perfectly lined up.
Too many camera in Bangkok, recorder is heavily guarded, only possible way is to throw a EMP to the security room. After that, you still have to get a SA from where NPC can spot you from another floor/on the stairs miles away. Not to mention the insane number of lookout and suspects in hardcore mode.
It seemed that timed get disguised is more feasible. Get to 47’s room, call for room service, get the hotel staff disguise, changing back to suit repeatedly.
