Can someone tell me if I will lose my weapons if I leave a mission in Hardcore mode (cold feet). Like if I know I can’t complete a prestige objective, can I leave and at least keep my guns on hand?
Does anybody know if it was mentioned anywhere that selecting “exit to main menu” from a mission instantly counts as a loss? Because I don’t remember seeing anything about that, and now I’ve just failed a showdown mission and lost all my gear. And it DOESN’T take you back to the main menu btw, it just takes you back to the safehouse in a loss state.

That’s how it works on Normal mode (you keep your weapons on-hand)

Why do they call it “Main Menu” though if it doesn’t take you to the main menu?? Wouldn’t nearly be as frustrated if it said “Exit to Safe House” or something similar, this should absolutely be more accurately signposted.

It does mid mission. Either Alt-F4 or Turn off your internet for your console not that I recommend it cause that’s cheating.
I just tested it and it happens even if you just start a mission. Arrived in Haven, selected “Exit to Main Menu” after a few seconds, got dropped back in the safe house with a mission failed, money gone, and the rest of my campaign territories on high alert.
Even when you leave an alerted territory and fail the campaign? Can any hardcore players confirm if leaving is safe for guns?
Again, this is for Normal Mode for me, but I failed a Leader mission and left without dying. All my weapons stayed on me but my tools disappeared
I quit on a Leader mission and did lose all my on-hand weapons as well as my tools. Spawned back in safehouse with just the camera.
Were you playing hardcore or normal mode?

Right, you’re supposed to lose everything if you quit to menu, as it’s technically a fail mid-mission.
But if you use one of the Exfiltration points on the map, you’ll at least get to keep all your weapons (and all of your tools if it’s not a Campaign Failure mission). I don’t know if it still takes half of your Merces.

Ohh, that clears up some of the confusion. Hopefully Hardcore treats it the same way.

Yes you keep them if you bring them back, but you lose all the gear even if you bring it back.
A productive day. Finally finished my first campaign and managed to buy or obtain numerous weapons and items that should help make the next one that much easier, including several silences sniper rifles, shotguns and pistols, the epic lockpick, a folding knife, and lots of emetics and other distractions, including the collectors coin. Not bad.

So…you do or you don’t keep your guns? It’s my expectation that I would lose my Freelancer tools either way, I’m asking about guns in hardcore mode. I’m getting confused here!
Feels so good when you can actually get all challenges (including the supplier finally selling an epic melee weapon)

I don’t even mind that as a gameplay feature, I just wish the actual text would reflect what happens when you select it.

Currently working my way through weapon collecting. Does anyone have any tips on weapon locations in map please, I currently know of the below;
Tanto in Hokkaido - Replaces katana from main mission
Burial dagger in New York - deposit box
Sappers Axe in Mendoza (Hitmaps)
If anyone can advise of any others that would be appreciated
