The “Open Safe - Explosive” may be partially bugged, since it just didn’t register for me right now. I used breaching charge to do it. It could be possibly connected to me gathering the clues first before remembering I had this task, I could investigate it later if I get this objective again.
Had the same man not once, not twice but three ruddy times in a row on NY! (He’s a bank teller who spawns in the middle section and is looking at the money counter)
Okay, that Water Tower starting location in Colorado is absolutely terrible, especially when there’s an extra guard on the roof.
At least I got the A Worthy Sacrifice challenge, so I can stop hoarding cash.
Thankfully final target got poision conditions on him so I was able to isolate him easily.
EDIT: I also seem to get sniper rifles from crates at end of my campaign, this is second after Hackl.
Sounds like a massive fluke, haven’t had any repeats yet, let alone on NY and Sapienza.

- The objectives are very vague or just misleading. For example: I had these two objectives: “Headshot Kill” and “Collateral Accident”. I had three targets, killed the first with a headshot, killed the second with a headshot and killed the third together with a guard in an accident. The “Headshot”-objective was met and he accident one not.
It’s probably because the other NPC who died in the accident was a guard; I don’t think they count as “collateral.” I think, since they are able to be killed without penalty unless an objective states to only kill the targets, guards don’t fall underneath that category. I think only “civilians,” the ones you get a pay deduction from for killing, count as collateral. I could be wrong, but that’s the I my thing that makes sense unless it’s just bugged.
Question for anyone who can answer: is that red car we unlock in the garage Rico’s? I remember it being a brighter red than that, unless my memory is misleading me. And I don’t remember taking a red car from any other location. So if it’s no Rico’s is it exclusive to Freelancer?
I can not longer cut fish with a knife at the safe house anymore. Unsure why.
And you can exercise in the gym but don’t have stuff on your back…

Can confirm from experience that guards work for collateral objectives. Gotta save that 50 Merces.
Must have been some other factor, then.
Can anyone tell me where the little note with the code for the safe in Caruso’s attic has been moved to?
This is a guess but Caruso’s probably carrying it. That’s where it is in Master mode.
Just noticed the Top of the Emetic poison cap has a typo on the model.
“Open and Colse”
Well, there it was. My showdown for the second contract in my second campaign, I was given conflicting objectives that could not possibly all be completed, regardless of any equipment I possessed or planning I did.
Objective 1 was Hide Target Bodies. Objective 2 was Poison Target - Tranquilizer. Objective 3, the one I spent the whole contract trying to find the item to fulfill, was Silent Target Takedown - Rare Melee. On the final play of the showdown, I got a concealable baton from the supplier, so I could do the third one, and brought along a tranquilizer gun. My first attempt, after thinking I had identified the target as one of two suspect, I shot one with the tranquilizer and objective 2 was completed, but objective 1 was failed, because hiding the bodies also means they can’t be pacified through any means and be seen by other NPCs.
I did hard restart (the Leader’s identity does not change with this, so big hint to those who don’t know), and after finally getting her into a bathroom with a container to hide the body, I knocked her out with the baton, and hoping it still counted, I shot her unconscious body with the tranquilizer. It did not count; apparently poisoning the target with a dart gun does not count if they aren’t awake for its actual effects to happen. So I had no other choice; I had to kill her there and hide her body. The fact that the target’s body had to be hidden meant that even if I had done it in reverse, I could not revive her in any way to then use the melee item.
This wouldn’t have been a problem of course if I had been given a chance to buy or find a Rare melee item on one of the earlier maps, so I could have played this last map sooner when it had more than one target, allowing me to do both objectives. But supposed only one objective had been assigned there in the first place, even if I had gained the item earlier? Or if each map in that contract had two, so no matter which ones I did, the showdown, a single-target mission, would still take place on a map with such objectives? In the future, having all the items will help prevent that, until the inevitable time that two such objectives are assigned to a single-target map. IOI, take note of who is failing what challenges and why, so you can address this in the future and prevent such objectives from being generated on single-target maps.
Unlocked the fourth infirmary.
Unless I missed something, this one is just cosmetic. Which was a bit of a disappointment.
The next one is at the end of mastery, and by the current way mastery goes for me won’t arrive until 5-10 more campaigns.
I hope this one will be more interesting than “hey now the lights are red”.
Also I can say that the Vault is as full as what @GTAJJ showed starting at 500.000 Merces. I wonder if there is another stage.
Finally beat the hardcore mode, without any restart-cheating too. Had to fail several times to get here but now I never have to do it again. The successful run was pretty smooth, I had to do some timed objectives but only the easier types. Had to also do one SA/no weapons mission in the bank where my targets happened to be both Mann and Perez, I’ve played the main mission so many times it wasn’t that hard but admittedly rather intense. Luckily the showdowns didn’t require to do timed shit or SA. The first one was in Miami and I had to do a collateral accident with a propane flask. The second one was in Dartmoor, where my starting location was on the top floor where I observed some suspects and when one guy who had matching looks and the agenda decided to come exactly where I was, I stabbed him with an icepick and he turned out to be the target. The third one in Whittleton required taking out an assassin so I poisoned Cassidy’s entire house which took out the target, his assassin bodyguard and several unlucky Cassidy’s men. The last one was in Haven and I found the target very quickly, just had to snipe him from afar and skedaddle.
Got some wacky clips, maybe I will make a compilation at some point.
The collection is now complete too, excluding the thematic weapons!
Great job!
Last night I unlocked every thematic weapon except the one knife in the ancestral set. One more mastery level for that and I’m only working towards cosmetic unlocks, I think, plus those last couple reward outfits.

I think, since they are able to be killed without penalty unless an objective states to only kill the targets, guards don’t fall underneath that category. Interesting theory. If this is the case the game should communicate that way better though, it’s very confusing.

Can confirm from experience that guards work for collateral objectives. Gotta save that 50 Merces.
Not consistently unfortunately, but good to know you’ve seen it work.
Another example for you @Heisenberg . Showdown mission so there is only one target possible. These were the two complications (the third one doesn’t matter for this example - it was about guards):
I bought both the street pack and makeshift pack, but it only unlocked 1 weapon from each for the wall. Is that supposed to happen? does it add the others to the weapon pool of unlocks/findable in level. or is this some kind of glitch? Because when i look at the outline on the wall it says to unlock them I only need to buy the packs.
That’s correct, the weapons are added to the unlock pool & the decorations are added to the mastery track.
