The objective “no witness” requires you to kill the potential witnesses. I’ve done the mistake of hiding an inconscious witness in a cupboard. Hiding its body alive does not count towards the objective.

What does the Trap Kill - Water Canister objective require? Do I need the target to slip in the water (do they slip? I haven’t used the water canister yet) and then kill them after they have? Or do I need to electrify the puddle?
For me it’s either Jazz or Classical. I would have picked Exotic if it was nothing but the Italian singing from Landslide, but I don’t care for any of the other songs. Old time jazz and classical both fit the atmosphere of the house the most imo.
Also not a fan of how the Hitman 1 OST playlist seems to include all the suspicion and combat themes—why would anyone play that in their house?
Yes, electrify the puddle by using any taser, EMP or car battery
Damn, that’s gonna be annoying. Thank you for letting me know.
So guys, I’ve got a new strategy anytime I’m in a situation where figuring out the identity of the Leader during the showdown is gonna be very time consuming or difficult depending on the map. It’s especially helpful if you’ve got an objective to poison the target without a requirement to kill them, because you can use the dart gun for this, or a distraction objective so you can make them go for a coin or something. Be warned, it’s totally cheesing it, so if you care about playing it honestly, ignore this, but it could be helpful if all you care about is completing as many campaigns as fast as possible for the challenges, but still want to complete objectives to get as many Merces as you can.
Just go in, eliminate who you can as a suspect for not matching obvious indicators, like no hat, no glasses, wrong hair color, etc… Then, for the rest, start using the dart guns or throwing the distractions if applicable, or if not, just start shooting them and running. One of these actions will reveal who the target is, then do the disconnect restart. The target’s identity will not change. Go back in and do the objectives you need to do, knowing who the target is and allowing you to get right to the point. If you’re ok with restarting the game and beginning the map again a couple times to narrow it down before getting serious, that’s a fast way of knowing for sure without incurring penalties and sacrificing any Merces.
Exotic is not bad, but yeah, too much of the Italian songs at times. I was hoping for the Marrakesh bazaar song to pop in, or even the Chinese songs from KaL2 that play in Hokkaido. Definitely looking forward to unlocking the Jazz music, that´s gonna be my main one.
Right? Although to be fair, H1 didn´t have as prominent “exploration” music as H2/3. The tracks there are pretty subtle, so the suspicion ones stand out (or it´s actually the exploration ones, but they sound like suspicion? lol). Btw, does it even include the H1 main theme at some point?
I haven’t seen anything seasonal unlock related at least from looking around.
Disabled, none of them are really appealing.
So no explanation for that coin then @Invalid ?
I got careless on the final showdown in Dubai & ran into a lookout in the bar, but only the suspects on the lower floors started running (& Diana didn’t blow up about it so fortunately the real leader wasn’t among them). I’ve been under the impression that lookouts are just game over but apparently not - can anyone explain the mechanics of this? Can you tell which “network” they’re on (per the message that pops up) or is it just a big radius of effect?
Ah, I had about 400k merces the beginning of yesterday but I had 0 by the end of it as I grinded the ‘Cold Feet’ and the ‘Sometimes Good, Sometimes Sh*t’ challenges
Last time I’ll be intentionally failing, that’s for sure!
I remember seeing a “[agenda] network escaping” notification, so my assumption is that each lookout is attached to an agenda and will only alert suspects with that agenda.
Now is the perfect time - it’s in the red - buy the dip!!
Have been away from the game for quite some time. Finally got back to it because of Freelancer, and I have a few questions about it.
- Does the time taken to complete a mission affect how much money or XP you get out of it?
- Is there no Silent Assassin rating in Freelancer? I completed a mission SA and with all optional objectives, still got ICA Assassin or something like that as my rating.
- Does following SA rules even matter, as long as aspects of it aren’t in the optional objectives?
No, no, and once again no*.
*there’s still a 50 Merces penalty for killing non-target civilians and 1000 Merces penalty for killing wrong suspects. Other than that, SA only matters for side objectives.
Destroyed. My whole. Second campaign. Completely my fault, but motherfucker. Again, a mistake made with an exploding ball, this time a baseball that I thought was a regular one. I am never picking one of those up from the supply crates again. It’s gonna be like when Edwards offered the serum to 47, only he’s talking to me and offering me an exploding golf or baseball.
Edwards: I trust you don’t know what this is? Why not simply take it? Ruin the campaign you were always meant to.
Me: No. Never again.
