In Australia the update won’t push until 11pm I think, so it won’t be ready til 4am the 27th or something
I’ll probably have work, then my number one priority will get my mod to work on the real version, see what needs to be changed from CTT version ![]()

Please please please be the removal of (or massive nerf to) all the ridiculous-number grindathon challenges like the GOAT etc. ![]()
Actually do we have any clue about whether items from 7DS DLCs can appear in Freelancer? Psy Ops’ blinding objectives would be a lot easier to do if we could have an extra flash grenade in storage or blind dart gun.
The CTT didn’t have them (but it had a few oddities like the Trinity suits or Lil Flashy, which wasn’t yet an unlock at the time). As for the final release, well we’ll find out in a dozen days ![]()
All suits you have unlocked in the base game (i.e. normal suit selection) work from the wardrobe. Other than that we’re not too sure, I doubt it though since you’d technically be getting those items “without paying” for the DLC.
I’ll be playing until coffee cant keep my awake anymore ![]()
If 7DS stuff was in, I’m expecting these items to only appear for players owning the DLCs. Thers’s also a question of how these hypothetical bonus items would fit in the tool area. Would there be another briefcase, or would existing briefcases have their layouts rearranged in an attempt to squeeze in more tools?
26th can’t come soon enough.
This, in my opinion, goes against the rest of the mode, as it’s locking items off (fully). It’s not like the premium cosmetics in the safehouse.
People on the side of the leaky faucet basically know (or can at least hypothesize) what will go there.
We don’t know really, I think they should put one large item in a briefcase (how it is now), but instead of just having 47 have the other large items on his back (which can get him instantly compromised), use the stashpoints already on the map for the other large item (at random). This would add a little more complexity when trying to take multiple large items in.
I meant the open briefcases at the safehouse that store owned tools, not the carriable ones.
It’s always been 3 briefcases, it will likely stay that way.
The long sniper briefcase is already in the game so it’s not something that is impossible.
That would be so cool, but I think it will just be the WOA maps in my opinion.
One of the surprises might be they could have decided to add the likes of Hawkes Bay, A House Built on Sand and Landside? ![]()
They have confirmed that Hawkes Bay will not be in the final version of Freelancer.
Locations
Firstly, the CTT will only feature 9 locations from the World of Assassination (i.e locations from HITMAN 1-3). The full release will include support for 19 locations (with only ICA Facility, Hawke’s Bay and Carpathian Mountains not supported in the full release).

That’s why he said it would be a surprise; that they decided to include it after all. Frankly, I wish they would have.
It would be strange for them to go back on a very definite statement like that. They would have to make massive changes to Hawkes Bay to make it viable for a Freelancer location, which is way out of scope for this as all the other maps have minimal changes, not drastic ones.
They definitely trialled Hawkes Bay, that much is clear from the game’s code and the March version of Freelancer, but it probably just wasn’t meant to be in it’s current state.
The Year 2 Reveal trailer also confirms it. NZ has a location white dot on it (just wasn’t active on that particular campaign).
They’ve done it before. Not saying they’ll do it now, but there is precedent.
Yeah, I thought it did. I would’ve booted the March version but that’s slightly more work than it’s worth.
That’s why I put ‘could have’ in my above comment ![]()
I’m not saying IOI will, but I was just using it as a possible example of one of the surprises IOI might drop as part of launch. Although it’s unlikely, they could have found a way to make it work? I guess we’ll see.
I would really doubt it.
The announcement of “surprises” and of “Hawkes bay, ICA, and Carpathian don’t work and are out” were at the same time.
And from the way the whole surprises bit is brought up, they are implied to be about the larger progression and gameplay of the freelancer mode.
The CTT was focused, about the base loop, the base economy. So everything larger would have been cut (partially to have them as surprises, partially because they would have interfered with what IOI wanted to have feedback about).
Hardcore mode is certainly an example. Maybe also some of the higher mastery level unlock.
At best I could see some bonus mission type (akin to xcom). Maybe patient zero versions of the maps, but that’s the higher I would go.
Outside of that, the only change we know about from the CTT is the removal of the ICA iconography. Which was a large talk on the forum.
If they went with some other lore feedback, maybe we will have the main targets removed.
The rest will certainly be economy tweaks, and difficulty tweaks.
