I just now realized there’s a car battery in the garage of the Safe House. I’m assuming you can bring it with you on missions, but has anyone tried it?
The next campign has more locations and more targets - the level is up.
Im now in level 3
5 locations and probably 8 suspects
(Level 2 medium was 6 suspects leader)
Found a pipe you can climb up to a balcony where you can see the bedroom and bathroom on the second floor that can’t be unlocked in the test.
Would it be interesting if weapons you aquire in a completed campaign are safe from being lost?
That way you are atleast rewarded for completion? Or would it make future campaigns just too easy straight away?
Which map/s not included in the CTT are you the most excited for?
- Marrakesh
- Bangkok
- Colorado
- Santa Fortuna
- Sgail
- New York
- Haven Island
- Dubai
- Chongqing
- Ambrose

Marrakesh and Santa Fortuna! Marrakesh because it’s so crowded, I am curious how that will be. And Santa Fortuna because of these three places, we have the villa, the village and the cocaine fields. I think a showdown can be much fun there!
And as much as I like the level, but I am not looking forward so much for Colorado I think it will be very challenging, because it’s already restricted area. And I’m also not super excited about Chongqing either, but I guess that’s because I don’t like the level that much in general.
The random targets in Santa Fortuna will be a disaster.
Colorado is going to be even worse with alerts and lookouts in showdown missions, the map is already pretty crowded and heavily armed as is
Edit: also I now realize just how bad random targets in marrakesh will likely be, we forget how many NPCs just walk around the crowded market
I don’t think Marrakesh will be that bad. So many of the npcs are fake npcs so it’s not likely they will be used as targets. Colorado, is going to be a fun challenge. As long as it’s not alerted or the Showdown map.
I’m not talking about the fake crowd NPCs, I’m talking about normal NPC’s with actual AI. Like I said, we forget about most of them since we are just walking past them most of the time.
Colorado will be nice for regular syndicate missions and for adding to the weapon collection though
I’m especially interested in Dubai and New York to see what new starting locations they add since they both only have one suit start.
I am curious about some of the others though. I assume Colorado will have the same NPCs (99% armed guards) so will it just be considered “hard mode” if you get it as a potential location? Or will they give it relatively fewer targets/suspects to compensate?
On the Isle of Sgail, it would be pretty funny if The Constant is a potential Syndicate member for you to take out. Maybe they’ll have removed him entirely, or maybe you’ll have to avoid him in addition to the lookouts/assassins.
It’ll be weird playing Dubai, Chongqing, and Ambrose Island with Diana as the handler instead of Grey or Olivia
I keep fooling myself, wondering why in the world Dubai isn’t showing up, as I’d love to see it used as a mission…
then I remember I’m just playing the limited CTT lol.
Location variety in the Campaign list is going to feel a whole lot bigger in January.
I mean, they did include all the locations in the files of the CTT…
Nah… No way. If that were a thing you’d be in negative numbers. Especially if one were wanting to do a run Suit Only. That’s even a restriction (at some point)… To not change your starting disguise.
While playing a showdown in Whittleton Creek, there were 9 suspects. I can’t say exactly how many times I changed disguises to Cassidy Body Guard, to Janus Body Guard, maybe a server at some point… If I lost 10 mercers every time I changed disguise… That would’ve wiped me out.
Ah. I was thinking that. But I didn’t want to come off as rude if you actually had.
As for a high power zoom lens… That actually would be cool. When you get to go outside (via leveling up and unlocking) of the safehouse - there are 1 or 2 blend-in points where 47 uses binoculars. That would’ve been very useful. Maybe choose a target to lock on so the camera follows them.
But (again) as for charges (any amount) for changing disguises - absolutely not.
When you charge for doing things you might not have any control over - that’s not challenging, that’s unfair and… well, stupid. Sorry if that sounds harsh.
You’d be actively punishing players for using the game’s core systems. That’s not challenging, more like severely limiting. Wouldn’t work for what Freelancer is going for.
Actually, you don’t know what you’ll be getting into until you’re at the location. Most of the “planning” is done in regards to the mission objectives. Like “Use Poison”, “Head Shots Only”, “Use an Emetic Dart”, “Snipe 3 guards”, or any other thing you can think of in almost any combination. There are even times when you have an optional objective, but it will conflict with another objective. You can do one and earn =M=, but that one will make doing the other objective impossible and you don’t earn =M= for that.
Like playing chess? A bit of a false equivalence, but that’s because (again) you won’t know what you’re getting into until you’re playing the mission.
But that doesn’t mean you still won’t have to think. I’ve thought out almost everything I’ve had to do, where I’ve left disguises (even the suit I wore when I came in - so I can leave with it), where would be the best place to kill a target. Do they eat or drink anything? Do they smoke? Do they go near any ledges or other potential accidents? Am I bound by an objective in order to earn =M=? Or am I free to find my own way to kill whoever?
So it really comes down to improvisation. Especially during the showdowns. If you go in thinking you’re going to be sticking to a plan - you’re likely going to be very disappointed.
But back to your idea of charging =M= for what should be mundane actions. What determines the reason such a thing should be implemented? Is this selectable by the player? How would the game know if you’re an elite speedrunner, or a casual, or a careful and meticulous planner?
Was that to stifle the players that aren’t good enough to just shoot and leave? Or the ones that enjoy the immersion? Or what/who?
