Cross Posting since I wanna address a few things about it since Gun being involved is controversial. I can actually talk about it now since the project and who is heading it is 100% in the open.
Trancas has been shopping around Game related stuff since as early as 2023. A game was confirmed at a H45 Panel which I attended during the Halloween 45 years of terror convention.
Boss Team Games (evil dead the game creators) originally concepted the title with Carpenter as Executive Producer back in 2024. Boss Team released RetroRealms which debut with Halloween and Ash vs Evil dead. Failed commercially, resulting in Trancas pulling out on development for the main Halloween Game shopping around the project to developers.
Which leads me to Gun. Gun did cease development on TCM for this title, but it’s a double edge sword. On one had the handling of TCM and lack of transparency really put a sour taste in people’s mouth. Content was finished and slated that was never released and they doubled down that the vision for TCM was fully realized.
On the other side of things TCM really was restricted on what they could do since they were stuck with just the original film. In terms of content and the larger ethos of the brand it’s very little.
Gun in publishing Halloween The Game, but Illfonic is heading the development. What does this mean? Simply put it Illfonic working on this is what’s saving this game. On top of the rights issue for Halloween aren’t as messed up outside of Trancas and Miramax which have a very good relationship. So that means while the 1978 films will take front focus as followed is on the table.

Only exception is the Rob Zombie Remakes cause currently Lionsgate own those films.
Similar to F13 there’s a lot of potential with the Halloween IP. (Yes even down to the Myers Masks and Coveralls). While the 1978 film is the core focus. The source material at large especially with John Carpenters involve and aswell as Malek Akkads I can say what’s available is robust.
As a Halloween fan. A hardcore one at that I’m optimistic for good reason. I don’t doubt this game on its success. F13 pulled numbers and the thing that killed it was the Lawsuit. Illfonic and Gun collaborating again is the best outcome for this title and hopefully come next year we get something that can hold its own against DBD.
