Yeah, it was gone pretty much instantly. I´ve had the game on both Steam and GOG for a few years now fortunately, but it sucks that they gave no prior notice so people could buy it last minute if they wanted to.
I wouldn´t go as far as to call it fucking ass to play (there are worse), but the gameplay certainly isn´t the highlight of the experience. And even if you are refering to the WP scene as the best part of the game, it still has a fair share of memorable moments up its sleeve. Plus the setting is great.
Personally I disagree (with the former that is, I do endorse watching Apocalypse Now), but to each their own.
Nah it’s cool, I mean there are worse shooters to play (like you said). I just kind of expected more after hearing so much about it, I got it cheap played it for a bit then just kind of decided to watch the rest of it elsewhere. It was a decent deconstruction of the military shooter but I have seen its tricks done elsewhere better both before and since.
Well I for one am excited!
Yeah, it’s kinda needlessly long, but it shows off a lot of the main hook and even MORE weirdness that fans of the first game might like. Also seems quite a bit spookier and horror-focused (WTF was with that tentacle-arm sarcophagus thing?? )
I’m glad to see Norman Reedus back in the starring and playable role. I was worried he’d have a much smaller presence this time around and we’d focus on a new protagonist, but hey, I guess he really does like working with Kojima on this after all haha
(Plus, damn, Lou the baby dying/disappearing is a great hook for me uuugh whyyy)
Also, glad to see snippets of gameplay in there, I think I remember the original DS didn’t get gameplay shown off until like the 4th or 5th trailer lol. Deserts! Snow! The Moon?? Real-time Flooding??
Looks like we’ll be connecting other areas to the UCA, like Mexico. Hopefully Canada is part of that list too? (I hope they drop the “America” name though, feels really strange if they’re gonna have America take over the world lol)
Also also, lmao, Troy Baker’s villain is doing a joker audition now huh. Honestly I really enjoyed him as Higgs in the last game, can’t wait to see how crazy he gets.
Terrible subtitle though. They should’ve used “On the Edge” like in the trailer. Feels more appropriate for a “an even bigger apocalypse is coming” instead of “On the beach” lmao oof.
This description blurb on the PS Store for DS2 is pretty wack though
Step by step, legendary game creator Hideo Kojima changes the world once again.
Jeez you guys, I still plan to get Death Stranding when I have a beefier PC because I like to have a cinematic walking simulator after a stressful day of work.
The very same.
Special mention to playing New Vegas without fast travel. Those sometimes long trek have a special place in my heart.
Not being able to play death stranding is my current larger disappointment. I think it could be exactly my thing (even though I have my doubt about the combat and semi-horror part of the game)
If it’s been on your radar and you’re interested, I support you trying it.
There are people I respect who really love it. There are people I respect who really don’t love it. And there are people like myself who I don’t respect who also don’t love it.
Is the story good? I don’t think anyone truly knows. But it does take you on a ride and it does demonstrate its creator’s unfiltered creativity. Some people are there for that; me, I didn’t really care for it— the assessment is yours to make.
Apparently a bunch of rumours about Microsoft strategy for Xbox, publications, exclusivities, and hardware have run for the last few days.
Everything from Microsoft Studios games aiming for temporary (one year) exclusivities before going to all platforms, to the near future end of the Xbox hardware / brand, and Microsoft becoming just a 3rd party publisher. And all the in-betweens.
Microsoft has now announced that next week will see the publication of “a business update”, and “the future of Xbox”.
It was planned to be revealed at the end of the month, but the rumour mill was not positive and accelerating, so they want to go in front of it.
“We’re listening and we hear you,” says Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer in a post on X. “We’ve been planning a business update event for next week, where we look forward to sharing more details with you about our vision for the future of Xbox. Stay tuned.”
As an Xbox player, I’m a bit curious has to what it will be. And honestly, a bit apprehensive.
Came here to post about that. I have no horse in this race. Still rockin the PS4 Slim, and got a Series S a bit after those came out.
Competition is good for the industry, and “console wars” are stupid.
BUT
I am kind of having some significant schadenfreude thinking about the PlayStation gamers who will buy and be disappointed by Starfield. BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHA
I do appreciate that Microsoft/Xbox, despite being in a distant third place, considers the market and makes attempts at progress and accessibility.
Gamepass is great, even with rising costs, if you’re a regular gamer. Cloud gaming is pretty good, if you’re not playing a fast game (and I cannot enjoyably play Hitman on it). Quick resume is great. Backwards compatibility is great.
PlayStation and Nintendo have the best, blockbuster games, but their services are kind of shite. I downgraded my PS+ this month from Extra back to Essential. The games are good but I’m just getting more value out of Gamepass.
If Microsoft does put its games on other platforms after a year of Xbox exclusivity, it can only be good for them financially.
I want to add on to this and how it could affect the ecosystem.
Essentially what I’m hoping this may lead to is PlayStation being more willing to release select titles that are exclusive. Such things like Demon Souls, Bloodborne, Until Dawn, Final Fantasy, etc. I’m not saying stuff like TLOU or GoW being on Xbox even though it would be nice.
I’m just tired of console exclusivity and the whole brain dead console war believers and just want to play games and enjoy them without shoveling hundreds upon thousands of dollars just to own the hardware to do so.
