Kind of a 50/50 situation. One the one hand, the situation has gotten worse and the country is now more aligned with our enemies.
On the other hand, the US needs to get into the habit of withdrawing our presence from other countries and stop inserting ourselves into sovereign affairs and let countries sort their situations out for themselves, unless they specifically ask us and the global community to step in and lend assistance.
I don’t like leaving people at the mercy of regimes run by sociopaths and sadists, but in the long run, taking the big picture stance, the US needs to start dismantling its empire across the world and stop fucking with everyone.
Hopefully they’ll be able to get things done if Harris wins. Walz seems like the best pick from all whom she was choosing from, and seems to garner the most widespread support regarding his stance on the major issues, potentially even being able to bring in some moderate republicans and other conservatives who are more centrist. And if the right tries to make it seem like he’s the real brains of the operation and is the only reason Harris wins because he’s the MAN in the picture, people can basically be like: so what? Even if that’s true, we like the guy’s attitude and what he stands for. If it’s really him and not Harris, we could do a lot worse. Keep on going.
Somehow, the far-right riots in the UK has escaped this thread. There’s too much for me to summarise, I’d suggest this article:
For once, living in a dull Tory super safe seat has had its merits as my local community is too against rioting to join in, despite quite likely possessing the hate to do so.
So far tonight, a range of anti-racism protests are taking place. It appears there’s very little far-right activity currently, despite the threats they’ve placed against immigration lawyers and further protests they claimed would be tonight.
Bad News… I still remember the case of MH370… it’s been a long time…
According to the Flight Radar website, the plane was traveling at 17,000 feet before plunging 4,000 feet in two minutes, and then its GPS signal was lost.
The fact that there’s such a thing as “laws of war,” and people actually think it will be followed, is a prime example of human naivety if I’ve ever seen one. And to be fair, I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen one.
In breaking news, it turns out that Donald Trump…is racist.
He also said this:
“I saw a picture of her on Time Magazine today. She looks like the most beautiful actress ever to live,” Trump said of Harris, referring to the latest edition of Time Magazine, which brands Harris’s campaign as “the swiftest vibe shift in modern political history.”
“She looked very much like our great first lady, Melania,” Trump gushed as Musk met his comment with an chuckle and a reserved, “yeah…”
A federal judge has thrown out felony charges against two ex-Louisville cops, finding that Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend was the cause of her death. Guess that falsified no-knock warrant had nothing to do with it. Not to mention all those shots fired by the cops.
Not only does he get to walk free and run for President again in 2024 rather than rotting in Rikers, Trump gets to flaunt and celebrate his coup attempt with no fear of being arrested. This is an international disgrace.
And it looks like the Harris debate will be the second thing this year that will Trump unfortunately miss.
This situation never happened under our current constitution.
We are fairly certain that when a government will be made, it will govern and be opposed to through a different set of rules, articles, and spirit as the usual ones.
And the political game is in a Mexican stand-off with the 2027 elections on the coalitions mind.
Tensions are also rising.
In local state elections the parties of the current Scholz government suffered with the AFD increasing in support. In Saxony the CDU remained narrowly the largest party but its current coalition with the SPD & Greens lost its majority. Either they will need to form a minority government or work with The Left, BSW, or the AFD which I think is unlikely. In Thuringia though the AFD easily became the largest party leading to the possibility they might finally govern a state. If the AFD wants to govern, the easiest path for them would be forming a coalition with the BSW or a minority government. I’m not super familiar with the BSW since they are a new party. I don’t know if they have pledged to be part of the firewall keeping the AFD out of government or if they are open to cooperation with them.
