France update its Nuclear Strategy

  • “Advanced Nuclear Deterence”
  • Strategic Air Force elements are to be spread and hosted in other European countries, at their request. They will also participate in French nuclear activities (exercises). Have already accepted or approached:
    • Germany
    • Britain
    • Poland
    • Netherlands
    • Belgium
    • Greece
    • Sweden
    • Denmark
  • France and Germany to form a joint Nuclear Steering Group.
  • Number of nuclear warhead will go up. And the numbers will not be communicated anymore.

Recently, multiple European countries had expressed a desire to start domestic nuclear program.
The same thing happened in the 50s and 60s, then the US proposed to have their elements be hosted.
It stopped nuclear proliferation, and created the US-dependant order of European affairs.
France then refused and continued on its program.

My prediction is that Crockett will win the primary. This is a good thing because she is good. But it is also a bad thing because in the general, against a white man, in Texas, she will likely lose. Talarico would be a better candidate to run in that scenario. I would be happy to be proven wrong but this is the gut instinct of most observers.

Perhaps, but remember, Crockett is already a representative, so she was chosen already, and even in Texas, the backlash against the republicans is growing by the month. I think she’s still got a good shot.

Looks like Talarico’s gonna win it.

Disappointing in a way, I liked Crockett, she was a fighter and did not hold back at all in putting Republicans in their places whenever they breathed lied or acted stupid. On the other hand, Talarico takes a more diplomatic-sounding approach to the same issue while still putting Republicans in their place. He may be more effective in the long run due to his subtlety. Either one of them winning would have been good, however, and hopefully Crockett will continue running for office whenever she can. We need to have leaders like her and Talarico.

I think Reductress had the best coverage:

Nintendo is going after the money they lost due to the recently invalidated tariffs, and demanding interest.

Some joke about they messed with gamers.

Who would win the Republican primaries for Texas Senate?

  • John Cornyn

Not voting on that one because it doesn’t fucking matter. It’s like picking between a shit storm and a storm of shit; it’s a distinction without a difference.

It’s not about who should rightfully be the Republican nominee, it’s about who would inevitably win the Republican nomination.

I know. But it really doesn’t matter who does, not from that selection.

Well, the Illinois Senate primary is wrapping up, who’s going to win the Democratic nomination for Dick Durbin’s seat?

  • Raja Krishnamoorthi
  • Julianna Stratton
  • Robin Kelly

No idea who they are, I just went with the one whose name is easier to pronounce and thus remember, because unfortunately, it can be decided by something just that dumb, which I’m doing nothing to dissuade by doing that myself.

She’s actually the eldest of the three at 69, and Stratton and Krishnamoorthi are both ahead of her.

I thought it’s worth looking out on since Durbin’s been in that seat forever and now he’s leaving.
