H3 - Easter Eggs (EEs)

I can’t believe after so many hours of playing this trilogy and watching many random videos on youtube, I still wasn’t aware about 3 different easter eggs.

It’s amazing that the community still hasn’t managed to find the Chongqing one. Will IOI reveal it themselves at some point?

Also, I remember speculation about a possible easter egg in Dartmoor with those horns found on the map. Does this image confirm that there’s no easter egg in Dartmoor then?

Where’s the location exactly?

Edit: Nevermind, I found it.

It's this spot (red circle)

Possibly. But also not really. Im not sure, but i think it was suggested by some that nothing in the data confirms a Dartmoor EE. But if you look at it differently it also means the apparent Chongqing EE was also not found in the data. So looking soley at the games data doesnt seem to tell everything. Or its just too well hidden in the game code.

I think the code was only being checked for Easter Egg Exits. So this Neko one might just be a giant cat spawns in the distance or something.

How many of those neko cats are there? I found six so far.

3 in the restaurant
1 in the arcade
1 in the laundromat and
1 in Zhaos apartment

Not really, we have tools to literally look into the maps’ structures and no one has found anything about those (yet?), I don’t think IO can hide easter-eggs any better than that, considering they usually put them in places easy to find (for them)

I see. But what does that mean for the possible Chongqing EE? Its just not been found yet in the data yet, even though it should not be too hard to find?

Well if no one found anything about it, it’s very likely that it doesn’t exist, or at least there is no logic pertaining to it (like the Matrix easter-egg, there are few pieces showing it existed, but nothing to trigger it)

What ;levels have Maneki Neko’s in them, because I think there’s a few.

The t-shirt suggests otherwise. It would be very cruel from ioi to put it on a shirt without it actually being an EE. At least thats what i hope.

I was asking about Chongqing.

From what I remember the Agent Smith EE in Berlin was found by players hearing the special sound FX when accidentally throwing an object at it and then following on, not datamining.
Is it possible to find this EE within the game code? Maybe it’s possible to have very well hidden EEs that wouldn’t be easily deciphered, idk.

It might even be an open question whether the Agent Smith mural is the final piece of the EE or if there’s an unknown step further to it.

I’m as curious as you are about that

As I said we can look into the map/mission logic and see everything, so if there was a trigger for an easter-egg, we’d find it relatively easily, either in a very obvious folder or it’s in itself named after the easter-egg,
with how the logic is made in Hitman we can know what item/condition is required to trigger something and what it does once triggered

Theres a small part of me that wants to believe – if it’s not in the files right now anyway – and IOI have confirmed it as an EE secret… mayyyybe it hasn’t been patched in yet? Mayyyybe that’ll be incoming on whenever they patch it next, so the shirt will be complete?

I’m almost sure that the E.T. easter egg in Berlin started off as a “we know its in the game, but unable to trigger it”, and after a patch came in, people found the required eggs needed to trigger it, and it worked!

Are there any current EE in the game that don’t show up in the game files?

I’ve had another thought. Big and in the distance, but… :night_with_stars: Maybe?

But I’d also think that when you get the final trigger - you’d be in a spot where you could see it.

Maybe from the arcade, then go outside, look at the huge building to see if the lights aren’t a large pixel-art of a cat. :man_shrugging:

I spoiler-it out of fear I might be right. Because it sounds likely.

I’m at work and can’t get into the game to see if that might be possible. Unless you need to get down by the restaurant to get a better view.

Ooh! Maybe all the arcade cabinets also…

Wet Cat Wash Clothes

I’m wondering what the 6 vertical characters are? The 1st should be simple enough, but I can’t find it. The 2nd part (I guess) means; Seedling, Sapling, Shoot.

Shoot? Like, shoot the cats?

The signs above the cat sign… I have no idea if they reveal something. I highly doubt it.

There’s another poster in the other room. Should we be dressed as the Pirate? Or is this just some arbitrary poster?

There’s that Matrix exit that doesn’t appear to be connected to anything. Maybe the cats are what’s actually needed to enable it?

It’s “喵“ just means “meow”. Not sure why they put six “meow”s there and vertically.

Connection? Or just coincidence!?

Maybe they light up differently if you do something with the cats, kinda like a checklist for the EE.

The matrix EE doesn’t exist, it has nothing related to it in the game scripts.
