H3 Pre-Launch Guide (Progression Carryover)

It’s a real change of tone from the original post. I wonder how this all came into being. Weird.

I suspect EGS invested some more will to fix this after the player’s reactions.

Does anybody know if the “HITMAN 1 GOTY Access Pass” will contain the bonus missions:

  • The Icon
  • A House Build On Sand
  • Holiday Hoarders
  • Landslide

That’s what I’m hoping for as well :wink:

I think the change in stance is due to the backlash, whether that change was instigated by IOI or Epic or whoever else. It just goes to show that when something unfair like this happens, sometimes kicking up a fuss isn’t a bad thing.

If we had all just shrugged our shoulders stoically, not voiced our discontent and accepted “well that’s just how the business works”, I doubt that whoever pushed for this change would have felt the public pressure to encourage them to do it.

Can’t stand the ones that put spoiler images in the thumbnails.

Yes, they have been part of the original standard edition, as a free DLC.

But Im happy about that! I also did rant about them earlier, but over the time its easy to realise being calm and reasonable is way better.

I hope so I love replaying AHBOS and Landslide

Sure. It just seems odd that it’s all of a sudden solveable. Some small part of me thinks this was some kind of tactic to get the customer/media outrage to assist in whatever battle IO is waging.

I am really curious about what this is all really about. I’m assuming we’ll never find out.

Your IO account has your progression tied to it. If you’ve unlocked items, hell, even completed New York and Haven then that alone should be proof you’ve bought the DLC.

Stop. You did buy Expansion Pass?
Can you list what have you bought or what are you own?
If you have New York, Maildives and additional sniper maps, you’re ok with Gold Access Pass or what the hell it’s called. If you have all that DLCs, you presumably have upgraded to Gold Edition

In HITMAN 2, do you still just own the Silver Edition or did later you buy whatever DLC they sold to upgrade to play Haven Island in H2?

From how I read the blog, if you own Haven in H2 you should be able to play everything in H3, but it’s a bit more murky if you only still own New York and not Haven in H2.

I think so. If you own Haven in H2, you should be able to play all of H2 in H3.

The details are not entirely clear yet, but the promise is you don’t have to buy for content you already own on Steam.

I did the same thing as you; I haven’t seen anything to suggest we wouldn’t be entitled to it. If you bought the expansion then you got the expansion, doesn’t matter what you had before; just like all the other people over the past year and a bit who would’ve bought Expansion Pass after only having Standard Edition

I don’t see why/how they’d fix it for the Standard Edition part but not the Expansion Pass part, but who knows they might find a way to screw it up

Preety late on checking out this message, i just want to say that i am so happy for PC players. Huge respect and commendable work by IOI to take the initiative to sort out the problem and work it up to inform the PC players as soon as possible. I hope people those who had lost their trust in IOI have maybe gained it now. Good work IOI, as much we were annoyed by it, probably more than that i appreciate you❤️

It is very clear that IOI took action only after media started reporting these issues. We saw many articles criticizing IOI’s decision of requiring to purchase H2.
I doubt only fan outrage would have affected the decision. They knew fans would cause a ruckus after reading info about H2 repurchase. That is why they chose day and time (Friday evening) to release H2 repurchase issue.

If you want to give credit to fans (including those here on hmf) for change in decision, I won’t stop you. But we know better.

Look at what is happening with sudden price increase by more than double amount for H3 purchase in some regions. IOI has made a statement on Friday on this forum that prices were reverted, but in fact not a single person has confirmed that is the case in any of affected regions. Everyone is continuously reporting that prices are still not reverted. But IOI is clearly ignoring them and refusing to respond even after 2 working days. (They released game pass statement on non working day).

It is very clear to me now that IOI is going that evil path. I am avoiding personal fingerprinting, as the employees are doing what they are allowed/asked to do by IOI as a company.

No. Prices are still not reverted in all of affected regions.
When H3 is costing 60% more than all AAA games then I should not be sorry to give middle finger to IOI.

Well prices are still not reverted in my region.

Well certainly they are caring for specific regions. Not all.
