Great, now they can use that money to make full new DLC levels. Start with a luxury ski resort.
Or I got a better idea. Hear me out okay? Okay.
Seven Deadly Sins. Boom. Iâll wait for a better more sensible idea.
Hopefully this means 300% more DLC maps
What is 300% of zero again?
the new interview with Hakan confirms that he wasnât talking about H3âs content updates, i think.
âItâs safe to say that, after the trilogy, [47] needs a bit of a breather; he needs a bit of a break. But that doesnât mean that things are not happening within the world of agents and World of Assassination. We have some pretty cool ideas that we are looking into within the World of Assassination. So, I think some of them will bear fruit; so, you will probably see some development there thatâs a bit different and exciting.â
Maybe heâs referencing Square Enixâs Sniper Assassins mobile game?
That takes place in the WoA timeline and will also feature 47.
Because we know how well mobile games went for companies with a PC player base
It might not be getting rave reviews from the hardcore fans around here but Hitman: Sniper is extremely popular.
Has anyone seen this? It is the excel spreadsheet view of why Square Enix dumped IOI from a chartered accountantâs point of view.
If you can stay awake through to the end, you learn that the accountants view of why Square Enix was dumped relates to how revenue was recognized in the episodic release format of Hitman2016 on an excel spreadsheet. In the episodic release format for Hitman2016, most of the revenue was frontloaded, that is by Free On Board shipping (FOB shipping) for Hitman2016, meaning that profits on the balance sheet were recognized before the game was actually completed, meaning that all the profits were recognized up front before all input costs were included with the complete first Seasonâs content was finished.
It meant that on the books, IOI didnât have a steady stream of revenue, but a dump of revenue at the beginning of its game release and then appearing like a giant loser, in having a very negative balance sheet after this initial peak in revenue. Apparently Square Enix wanted to expand their profits on free-to-play games on mobile devices, which bring in a constant stream of revenue by means of micro transactions which Hitman was lacking. Hakan Abrak discussed in interviews of a push to consider turning Hitman into a free-to-play model with micro transactions,. which probably came from Square Enix.
Another issue for Square Enix, is that the Hitman IP is an intangible asset that devalues over time in what is considered impairment costs on a balance sheet. When acquired, the goodwill ($1.5 million USD) is the purchase price by Square Enix above the sum of its total, tangible assets and liabilities ($3.0 million USD). But because this goodwill is amortized, the value of the Hitman IP, the $1.5 million USD intangible asset, in generating future profits for Square Enix drops in market value for Square Enix every year, over an amortization period of say 40 years, causing what is known as impairment, or how the Hitman IP asset is being used up over the lifespan of the IP, causing a rolling balance sheet deficit every year, in addition to the losses due to poor sales of Hitman Absolution and Hitman2016.
On the books, Square Enix measures the intangible asset like its Hitman IP by its historical cost, that is from its peak at when it was purchased when Square Enix absorbed Eidos Interactive in 2009, and then this intangible assets appears to drop in value over time. Square Enix was carrying a high impairment cost on their balance sheet, and were compelled to shed IOI in 2017, partly to remove this burden of impairment of the Hitman IP on their balance sheet.
It all sounds pretty interesting if I was a chartered accountant (Not!) who evaluates things on how they look on a companiesâ balance sheet âŚ
I remember seeing a map of when the 7DS DLC will come out the rest of the year, but i canât find it⌠does someone has it?
The only thing I remember seeing is TheContractorâs best-guess approximation of when things would come out based on each season being 4-6 weeks long, but I donât believe IO has said anything specific about when the new content will come out or in what order. (Though, presumably, the next season will start May 10.)
Yeah, Iâm pretty sure thatâs Contractorâs image.
Itâs just an estimate though, and I can see some seasons being shorter than others, since IOI felt the need to specify a timeframe of 4-6 weeks.
In the Greed trailer they ordered the other sins so I (along with many others) assumed that to be the release order. But Travis may have hinted that that isnât so true
This is from the official trailer
I mocked up the timeline just as a rough visualisation of when we possibly could expect the sins. I wasnât trying to bamboozle anyone, sorry
I hope not, hearing that they have some ideas for new content is really exciting.
Lucas Grey DLC coming up⌠I wish
Thatâs developed by Square Enix Montreal while he seems to be talking about IOI as a studio in that sentence so probably not.
I wouldnât mind seeing a spin off gaming taking control of Lucas and playing the events from his perspective. Have a prologue taking place the day he escaped and fast forward to his war on providence.

That music though
Huh, the targetâs voice is different in this one
Iâm with danny.
