HITMAN 3 - Bug Report Thread

Platform: PC (Epic)

Location: Mendoza – Envy Escalation

Description: If you press pause during the exit-animation you’re going to stay in this level forever. There’s no way to exit again. (Although the escalation counts as finished)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Win the escalation
  2. Exit
  3. Press pause while exiting
  4. Un-pause and do whatever you want…

Frequency: happened in my only playthrough (not sure if I ever want to play this escalation again…)

Description: The list of equipment I am unable to smuggle into Agency Pickups (or put into a briefcase) seems to be growing. It started with the default equipment (simple ICA19, plain Fiber Wire and regular Coins) but now includes the IO Elite S2VP Headphones, Quickdraw, Electronic Key Hacker MK III, Lockpick MK III and the ICA Remote Micro Taser. (Those are just the ones that I’ve noticed. There could well be others.)

As far as I can tell, Hidden Stashes still work as expected.

Platform: Xbox, but I think this is the kind of bug that appears across platforms

Location: Berlin

Description : On the ground floor, there is a small technical room inside the factory near the passage from the factory to the outside bar, near the route that one of the ICA Agents takes. You can open the door to that technical room (which contains a crate and a wrench), but you can’t close it manually.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open the door and try closing it

Platform Xbox one. It saying that I don’t have the hitman 2 expansion even though I do and before this started happening I was able to all the hitman 2 missions frequent all the time

Platform: PS4/PS5.

Location: All locations, Hitman 1 through 3.

Description : This has probably been frequently noted, but it continues to occur. The background music consistently drops out while traversing levels, including the music that plays when all objectives are complete and the player can head to an exit. Seems to occur when a player crosses an invisibile boundary in an outdoor area or into a new room inside a building. An example occurs in the Envy Contention escalation. When heading down the stairs from where the player shows his invitation to the dance floor where the musicians are playing, the music that plays from the beginning of the level abruptly stops, but is not replaced by the musicians on stage.

Description: During the mission The Ascensionist i load the mission and got everything i need including Sieker 1 for the target. i had quickly found her and wait until she goes to the bathroom and there was two staff and one guard and one random person that outside of the stall door and i used the sieker 1 (emetic dart) quietly and she want to the toilet without me being seen and as soon as the door close i drown her but end result was i was compromised with the toilet making sounds without that person seeing me through the wall doing it ran with no yellow mark around the body. after that i ran to the exit but i wasnt compromised after all of that or being hunted by the guard and thought it was a glitch and once the mission was done i thought i had silent assassin but i didnt bc of that. This was the first this happen to me on a Elusive target but not the first time in general for the game and wish it was fixed. So if it is possibly if i could get the Silent Assassin from that target bc of the bug.

Description : Body is found behind a closed bathroom door, when no one is present.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start the game
  2. Load Envy, Escalation 1
  3. Go into the bathroom to the left of the entrance into the wine area. The guard who talks about being a Yankees fan, who has the card key. Knock him out and drag him into the toilet.
  4. Close the door. Within a few seconds, he is discovered, but not by the guy in the other stall. He is discovered by a Providence Herald standing outside the building, looking through walls. (The guy on the stairs.)

Frequency : Has happened five times now.

Platform: PC digital

Location: Dubai (The Greed Enumeration Part 2/3)

Description : I knocked out one of the axe victims before knowing they were a target and put them in a locker resulting in me having to restart the mission.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start the game
  2. Load the Dubai mission
  3. At any point before drowning Kelly To, put the knocked out person thats in the storage room behind the Black Cold Bar in the locker (I did this to obtain the rat poison so I could drown Kelly To easily)
  4. Drown Kelly To
  5. Now its impossible to continue the mission since there is no way of killing a knocked out person in a locker / anywhere else hidden away.

Frequency : Once; in the first time playing it and since i now know of the fact that the guy is a target i wont put him away and it isnt really a bug but I felt frustrated losing my 15 minutes of carefully trying to get silent assasin just to find out I have to quit the try because of an unlucky game mechanic. Maybe make it so you can remove people from closets etc.? Seems weird that you cant. Or make it so they can be killed.

STILL NOT FIXED AFTER 8 MONTHS

digital
Location: Dubai

Description: im level 10 mastery in Dubai but mastery level 2 (atrium start and snowglobe) are not unlocked

Steps to reproduce:

  1. installed Hitman 3
  2. Started Hitman 3 to make a profile and then exit the game
  3. Did the Hitman 2 tranfer to hitman 3 and the site said complete
  4. started playing hitman 3 dubai
  5. after 30 minutes playing servers crashed and was booted back to menu
  6. servers came back online and i saw that mastery had bean reset byut the challenges did not
  7. so now i leveled up my mastery to 10 and all mastery unlocks after mastery 2 are unlocked without problem
  8. mastery 2 are still locked

Locations: Sapienza, Bangkok, Hawke’s Bay, Miami, possibly Santa Fortuna, Isle of Sgail, Haven Island, and I have not tested the Hitman 3 locations yet.

Description: Water near coast (e.g. speedboat exits on Sapienza and Isle of Sgail) is missing since updating to 3.70; was present before update. I use an AMD RX 5600XT.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start the game
  2. Load any of the missions listed above
  3. notice missing water (the splash effects and sounds are still present though)

Frequency: Happens every time a body of water is present on a map.

Thank you for fixing this issue. Again, it was not present before I updated to 3.70.

Seems to affect random items. I’ve had the issue with (at least) the Enram HV CM, Jaeger 7, and TAC-SMG. Other players (as seen in this thread) seem to have problems with different items.

Issue has been in the game for more than 6-7 months at this point.

The issue is not present in offline mode:

Platform: Xbox Series X - Digital

Location: All Locations

Description : There are several items missing in the loadout selections, while present in career inventory. When in Online Mode, some items are removed from the selectable loadout inventory. In Offline Mode, certain items as noted, will be selectable as they should be. There seems to be an online/offline unlock discrepancy and syncing issue with how the server is communicating information from the server to the local destination. I have cleared the cache, I have downloaded and reinstalled several times and it does not change the result. It has to be a server issue.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Choose Career (Only Available Online)
  2. View Inventory
  3. Note an item, for example, the Sieger 300 Ghost (on my profile)
  4. Choose a mission in online mode.
  5. Go to loadout > Choose Agency Pickup/Container Items > Note the Sieger 300 Ghost is not listed, even though unlocked.
  6. This is just one example. And in this situation, the Sieger 300 Ghost is not selectable at all and unusable.
  7. This IS a profile+server and/migration issue as I played through the escalation that unlocks the Sieger 300 Ghost with a secondary profile and it unlocks properly and appears in loadout inventory lists, ie, Briefcase and Agency Pickups

Frequency : When in Online Mode, items are stripped from the loadout selection inventories. In Offline Mode, items that are supposed to be in the inventory will be there. In Offline Mode, the Sieger 300 Ghost is selectable in a loadout. It happens all the time when referring back and forth from Online to Offline and vice versa.

Attach I compiled an exhaustive list, pertaining to my profile only, I assume, of what is available and what is not available in both online and offline modes and the general inventory list under “career” in online and offline mode. Why are my unlocks not showing up?

I don’t know why I’ve never checked this myself, but you’re right, this issue is online-only for PC as well.

I’ve edited my post above to reflect this. Good addition! Definitely a server-side issue.

You can also see the pattern pertaining to which items are not selectable under which scenario, at least in my case. It seems the availability or unavailability is profile specific as well if you cannot use the Enram HV CM but I can.

Description : Whenever I use the Goldbrick Proximity mine and throw it then an NPC/Target notices it they’ll go pick it even after it explodes and be stuck in an infinite picking up animation.()

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start the game
  2. Start any mission
  3. Equip Goldbrick Proximity mine from Sloth DLC
  4. Throw it on the ground and wait for any NPC/Target to notice it, then he’ll go to the mine and attempt to pick it up, though it already exploded and will be stuck in a non-stop picking up animation.

Frequency : Always Happen

I was playing and finish the gluttony saga and passes everything and didn’t get the reward. I tried playing it again but still didn’t give me the shotgun or the bubblegum.

So after some suspicions on my side and a confirmation from @ColdDayInHell after he tested a submitted featured contract and multiple test made on XBox and PS4. I have to signal a potential issue with the sedative mechanics in contract mode.

Here is a copy paste of the ticket is just sent. But if anyone on PC could look up if the issue also exists on their platform I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Subject : issue with the sedative mechanics in Contract Mode

Platform : Xbox and PS4

Level : All but limited to the Contract Mode

Description : In contract mode, sedating a NPC with a sedative syringe or with a slipping accident (grape, banana) voids the Silent Assassin rating once their body is found by a guard. Sedation with a Tranquilizer gun or the bubble gum retains its silent assassin propriety. Syringe and placed fruit sedations still work as usual in the main missions, escalations and Elusive Target and do not result in a loss of the Silent Assassin rating.

Steps to reproduce : General issue with a game mode, no particular steps required, but only occurs in Contract Mode.

  • Launch contract mode
  • Start a contract (already made) (the issue was first found on the contract You already have what you want, xbox id 3-31-8828862-13 and also seen on the contract What is yours is mine, xbox id 3-27-6374874-13)
  • Enable the Silent Assassin Tracker in the HUD
  • Pacify a NPC with the sedative syringe or a placed fruit
  • Attract another NPC to the sedated one
  • The Silent Assassin Rating will be lost once a guard is alerted and arrives to the sedated NPC

Frequency : Always happens. The issue was seen on multiple accounts, platform and machines.

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO THE PLAYERS AND DEVELOPERS ON THE FOLLOWING TWO CONTRACTS

It has come to Chiku138 and my attention that unfortunately sedation is currently bugged in Contract Mode. Or at least doesn’t work with the usual mechanics.

Namely sedating an NPC with a sedative syringe or with a placed grapes/banana voids the Silent Assassin rating when they are found by a guard. Sedation with a Tranquilizer gun still works as usual and will let you keep the Silent Assassin rating even after the NPC is found by a guard.

As a consequence :

  • The You already have what you want contract is currently impossible to complete Silent Assassin as it was created to force at least two slipping sedation with grapes or bananas.
  • The What is yours is mine contract can only be completed if the player sedates The Vulture with a Tranquilizer gun, and not with a syringe as is mentionned in the contract description.

We worked a lot to refine those contracts, so we are a bit heartbroken. But it is what it is.



Again I would appreciate if anyone on PC, or even on other platform could test the issue. Thank you everyone.

Edit : After more investigations and help from other members of the forum, it can be conclued that the whole situation was just the expression of the gameplay mechanics and AI behavior towards targets.

It just happens that a quirk in the contract creation and the behavior of the tranquilizer gun made us think that player made contract targets could be sedated without loosing the SA rating.
It is technically the case during contract creation, but the NPC’s behavior is then set to their new paradigm during subsequent runs.

The notice on the submission post was changed to reflect those latest development.

Confirmation from the support team is still needed, but the report can otherwise be considered closed.

I have the same problem, I can’t access Hitman 2 maps ever since Envy came out, exceptions being the dlc missions and maps like Haven Island and New York. Which is annoying because I use Hawke’s Bay to test out items I unlock like suits.

Yeah I noticed this issue as well with my items, every time I log in certain items either remain unavailable or become available again or items I can’t bring in the suitcase but can bring on my person. (I want Masamune back come on people!)
