Haha, ignorance is bliss I guess
Oh this is all PC? Thatâs SUPER weird then. They should offer low end options rather than downgrading the high end options.
Also is the fibre wire still visible? I canât see it I hope they havenât invisibled it again.
its still visible yes
This looks like some âdefinitive editionâ vs âoriginalâ comparison, but this time, the original looks better. LIke all the screenshots. But Im not surprised they get away with this, noone really cares. Ive never ever heard a single youtuber talk about it, and even here on the forum, beside this thread, I feel like the only one complaining. Im sure they could even cut out more and noone would care/notice.
well the thing is that they still look âgoodâ, just worse in comparison. thats why most people dont really notice it much to complain about it
think back to Green Sapienza. that didnt look good by any metric, so pretty much everyone complained about it
I get that, sure. I just dont like the thought that IOI is basically the first in this revolutionary concept of âOwn it once, own it alwaysâ, and then mess up what they crafted over so many years of hard work. It cant be that iI have to choose between the best lightning, detail, or content when I want to play a map I enjoy.
In order for me to notice graphical problems, they have to actually look Bad. Not âslightly worseâ, not âa little differentâ, and certainly not âa few less trees or background details than there used to beâ. I never noticed any of the graphical changes from Hitman 1 to 2 to 3 so, for me at least, the potential benefits of less hard drive usage, faster processing, more efficient use of resources, etc. are all very much worth the slightly worse graphics. They arenât âbadâ by any means and arenât even noticeable (to me, again - you may differ significantly and thatâs ok) unless you know what the graphics used to look like to begin with. I doubt anyone is loading this game and thinking âwow, these graphics are just horrible!â without having a pretty good sense of what they looked like in H1 or H2.
Thatâs what donât like myself. As much as this franchise is in really good place now, thereâs still many ignored issues with new ones on top. If they wonât sort this out in the near future, the âlegacyâ of this trilogy will feel incomplete and unfinished for all the years to come.
Maybe some day there would be some modders to fix bugs, but then comes the another issue with always online compatibility.
Yes, everything I found has been on PC
Then how come H1 still runs the best on pc?
Probably for the same reason that Office 97 runs better than Office 2016. Itâs optimized for the hardware available at the time it was released. There are a lot of things that can be optimized besides things youâll visually see. The crowd AI, for example, was reportedly improved for Hitman 3 over the first two games. That takes processing power to do. They might have sacrificed some of the visual stuff in favor of some of the behind the scenes stuff. I donât really notice that Hitman 3 runs any worse on my computer than Hitman 1 does (or Hitman 2 for that matter). They are all perfectly acceptable for me.
I totally understand that for some minor changes arenât obvious, but to me the shorter LOD distance is extremely obvious. Maybe it depends on monitor size and distance, or just how picky you are (pop-in has always been a pet peeve of mine). Either way though, I pretty much never noticed pop-in at all in Hitman 2 and I notice it all the time in Hitman 3, especially with vegetation, and thatâs a bummer.
Well, that goes back to my original response. I didnât notice that at all so it clearly wasnât a problem for me. You did notice and it was clearly an issue for you. I see a lot of threads about how IO âMUSTâ fix some issue that really only affects a few people, but I get the frustration if itâs something that you really care about. There are a few screenshots on this very thread that, to me, look like one of those âspot the differenceâ puzzles and I really canât see much of a difference between the two pictures.
The lack of consistency with cutscenes is also annoying.
Its like everywhere and I feel like Im particulary well known here for nitpicking and complaining. Its not something we, or I, ask for that is new, like, complaining about the shortcut system, the camera tool, or anything else that is now part of the game. Its complaining about something they changed for no obvious reason. Why should a game be more optimized if a new generation of consoles and gpus came out? Thats like the opposite of what to do when you want the last game to be âthe best and most definitiveâ edition. I get it that others see other things as more important, bugs, always on, game breaking bugs. And Im sure noone in this thread wants these minor LOD things to be on their list above all these serious issues. But it is something we want to gain some tracktion on, that IOI recognizes that is isnt what they should have done.
Have to imagine redoing H2 (and upping the quality in H3) cutscenes would cost a lot of $$, but something Iâd love to see as well.
I just canât understand how infinite grass into the distance and grass popping in 10 feet in front of you isnât a change someone would notice, but hey⌠it is what it is I suppose.
To each their own. Iâm hoping the tweaks fix most of the little things, mostly the pop in on pc.
This oneâs kinda small, but the sunlight in landslide used to reflect off 47s suit rather nicely. My photos donât really capture it but I encourage yâall to look ingame.
Hereâs my best try at the same angle in H3
and again in H3.
Itâs tiny, but man that memory of 47âs suit in the sunset in s1 is etched into my brain. One of my favorite moments in this series.
Evening and night levels really look dimmer and more contrasting even compared to Hitman 2.
One day I decided to compare the low graphics settings with the ultra settings in Hitman 2. I had a hard time seeing the difference. But the difference in FPS was palpable. For me, this was an example of good optimization. The game looked about the same on all graphics settings
Now I compare the last two games on ultra settings and clearly see the difference in quality. I will hope that this is just a bug that arose from optimizing the client size
