Took over a month because I wanted to do it properly unlike Van Damme and other voicesets of the past. None will randomly show subtitles, I’ve hand picked it so no story-specific lines will be spoke (Apart from a single line about Winding, but you’ll live). I had trawled the internet for high quality Mikkelsen audio to help complete the voice set, I rewatched Hannibal and other things and used Adobe Podcast to remove the background noise/music (this gives it a bit of a worbly noise removal effect, but I think is better than nothing), and I tried to learn Death Stranding’s file formats so I could take his voice lines from there (AnFul gave a breakthrough today that made it possible), and now it is ready enough, for what was a fairly empty voiceset.
This is why I shouldn’t have map editing privileges.
This took the better part of about 4 hours. Mercifully, Hitman 3 keeps most of its particle effect files in the main base files (chunk0). The fire is gotten from Sapienza’s “The Icon” (Had to set up a GameEventListener and everything!), and Mumbai’s Metalworks (which, to my surprise, worked without any dependency shenanigans!)
I also wanted to mess about with sound emitters briefly, but ended up using sound prop instead. Anyway, enjoy!
Few notes:
A briefcase used to hide a weapon cannot be returned to the carousel.
47 can not return briefcases by dropping them. The only way to return briefcases is through manual interaction with the carousel.
The briefcase 47 brings to a mission (if required) will always be the last one he held in the safehouse.
This is so nice! I usually never change my starting outfit in Freelancer, but this gives me an incentive to try different combinations of suits and briefcases.
I am aware that IO’s recent change to the entitlement system has left many of my mission mods (particularly OME + Custom Mission Pack) inaccessible, I intend to have it all fixed by end of today. Unsure just how many mods are affected, only OME and The Brothers confirmed so far
UPDATE: Mods of mine affected seem to be:
Methlab
The Brothers
Freelancer Variations (Hawke’s Bay slot. Plugin version fix incoming, but Mission Companion requires Piepieonline to fix, he’s been away from Hitman modding for a while!)
Offline Mode Enhanced + Custom Mission Pack
Sandbox Hantu Port (Maybe? IO gave it a new entitlement but looks like the old one still works, as is used for the Special Assignments)
Reminder that the bottom two mods do not have autoupdates enabled, you MUST re-download them from Nexus
Offline Mode Enhanced and Custom Mission Pack
You now again have access to the custom and ‘enhanced’ missions in offline mode. Please note custom missions taking place in Patient Zero maps now require you to own Patient Zero instead of just Season 1
I even fixed IO’s vanilla issue of being unable to access the Sapienza side mission offline. Ironically if you only have Sapienza pack you won’t be able to access them.
Canopy above methlab balcony removed, as a pipe was clipping through it
Something about IO’s recent update has resulted in the green tarp being turned white, I couldn’t quickly find a solution to this and don’t care about this old mod that much so it will now stay white… until another game update makes it worse
“Since 2018, a random mad scientist with a tragic backstory started up a company that made vending machines that only gave out explosive ducks, in a bid to take over a very small part of the country. Luckily, only Remote Explosive ducks are dispensed for now”.
@Notex suggested this on Discord, and I had a spare hour. I still hate Chunk 1.
The modder Bryndo has released a beta version of a Halloween-themed Whittleton Creek. They posted about it on Reddit but not here, so I assume they don’t have an account?
It’s a work in progress but quite atmospheric already, obviously using props from the Hawke’s Bay escalation but also NPCs in appropriate costumes. I only checked out the online version in the campaign but apparently there’s also an offline version with a custom mission.
