Preparing kill spots, like a leaky gas tank when they go there for a smoke, or the electrical outlet and a puddle of water. It’s a generic one as you can get specialized ones like ‘electrician’ if you focus on one sort of trap and perform better overal.
I know it’s the same concept, but like Blood Money, because it doesn’t have any actual boundaries that we know of and real “anything,” it’s meaningless and just a label.
Rankings, scores, stats, something that can be tracked by - as a whole - would have actually brought value to these ratings.
How AWESOME, would it be to see and compare folks’ runs and scores for: Clean ICA Agent? THAT would bring value (pun intended).
One thing Resident Evil has done right is the profile on re.net, that shows amount of time played, most used weapon, accuracy etc.
Imagine the same thing for Hitman, weapons used not just for you but a list of most commonly used in succesful runs overal for everyone and various things.
Total contracts completed, site achievements for rankings, playing styles and various other things.
They could even reward you with something minor for certain achievements and send some item to your game. Like Elusive target costumes, customized skin weapons or something quirky like the fish.
They track this actually, it is a shame they don’t evaluate the data.
Considering Hitman is online only (for the most part), I would HOPE so! LOL. They really should expose this. Bring value to these new rankings. I honestly believe this would open up Hitman even more. Sure SA is awesome and for the most part “top of the heap,” but considering how popular kill everyone runs are, provide a real use for “loud” weapons, etc. folks would be able to expand and look at Hitman in new and interesting ways.
I’d love to see a run with the loudest weapons without any concern with SA but done in the most efficient manner possible.
There should be a place in Career menu where you can see the IOI logged statistics of your gameplay. Things like “Favorite Target”, “Favorite Gadget”, “Kill Method Frequency”, and “Assassin Ratings Earned” along with a percentage or counter for them.
Basically what @Ninefaps said. Hahaha.
One solution to this is that “Silent Assassin” is not a Playstyle Title but a Mission Rating. So the scoreboard always writes “Silent Assassin” beneath a 5 star Mission Rating score, but the Playstyle Descriptor that is not SA always appears anyway.
The presence of these alternate ratings has made me much more comfortable having “messy” playthroughs of missions. My natural instinct is to try and keep things quiet, but I’ve probably killed more non-targets in 3 than in the previous two games combined, just out of curiosity
I’ve felt that with the challenge system and obvious ‘canon’ non silent assassin kills, that IO have done a good job throughout the trilogy of making non silent assassin runs feel viable and not like you aren’t playing the game properly.
With these new mission ratings they’ve made that feeling even stronger.
Having ‘Rambo’ style playthroughs always felt like I was breaking the dev’s well designed game and cheating somewhat.
Being rated as a ‘shotgun assassin’ after makes it feel perfectly justified.
This is a welcome addition.
I like the new ratings. I am a player that never really cared about SA ratings, leader boards, suit only challenges, speed runs, scores, etc. I like to play how I like to play. If I can remain unseen, great, but if not, I’m not going to start over just to preserve that little green icon. The new ratings make not getting a Silent Assassin rating a bit more “acceptable”.
I just got my new favorite rating finishing my last challenge on Dartmoor: Nitro Freak. I got tired of trying to single out the family members for their keys and just brought the proximity duck you get as a mastery reward and tossed it in the middle of the family meeting. All members killed and all I had to do was wait for them to be bagged up to grab the keys and then knock out Fernsby for the last key and token and be off.
Has anyone tried to get “Russian Hare” in Whittleton Creek or at some other location? Does it even exist?
dont forget Choke Artist
Theres another post a little further down the thread with way more ratings.
I’ve gotta Professional ICA assassin
