HITMAN 3 VR: Reloaded (Meta Quest 3 Exclusive) - Sept. 5th 2024

Yeah, I liked the look of Mendoza and Dartmoor!

Looks like Hitman 2. The original.

I quite like the looks of Berlin and streets of Chongqing. Dartmoor also looks quite nice, showing a lot of geometry – woodwork, book shelfs, portraits. Darker environments look better with this style, when there’s less of direct sunlight. Dubai is somewhat meh, and I have the same feelings for Mendoza. Plus, it’s a heavy on foliage location and they’ve had to cut visuals down, because mobile GPUs (incl. one in Quest) bad at the processing of transparencies. I wonder what the actual vineyards and tall grass part look up close. But I think the game would look mostly good when you’re actually in VR

I think outside, Mendoza looks pretty darn good! But uhh, gosh, the inside wine tasting area looks super weird having the massive windows become white and grey panels basically…

The main public areas in Dubai is going to look like ass then too.

Dubai is my biggest worry, visually. The start of Hitman3 is so visually impressive that even the Switch version made my mouth drop.

Switch version is a streaming one (runs on some server, like xCloud/Geforce Now), so it runs on much beefier hardware than Switch (or even Quest) has. If it ran locally, it would look somewhat like Quest version. The only Hitman game you can run locally on Switch is Blood Money

That’s true, but it does still look significantly worse on Switch since it has to allow for fast performance when streaming, and so the resolution takes a hit for sure. I have the game on PS4 as well, so I can see the significant difference

There you go. Still Summer 2024. That’s why I was waiting for XR Games to say something than just relying on what may be an error.

Wait… then what the heck is this??

My guess is that Meta’s store has a simplified idea of the seasons, so has Summer as June-August. Game is defo out in the Summer as they officially announced that one week for now, people will be playing it.

Dual Wielding will officially be back… on 47’s 60th birthday?

Nice.

This looks quite different from the original VR experience :face_with_raised_eyebrow:
I’ll wait for the final release before judging from the pics.

The cell-shading effect can indeed be confusing because it might look different while playing.

I hope that some reviews will come very soon after the game launch :+1:

Review codes are already available, so expect reviews on the day. The embargo is later in the day (19:00 CEST), which is probably when the game drops. You won’t get early reviews, but at least they’ll be there when it’s live.

My review will effectively be an essay. There’s a lot to say about it!

Thats always a good sign, right? Lol

Well, they’re out at release so you can still wait and read reviews first - or skim them at least.

There’s no need to pre-order any game, as the 10% discount can also be gained from an affiliate link.

XR Games have officially announced the time the game will go live. Reviews are embargoed for that same time! I’ll post the link to my review here once it drops

It will be interesting to see what other outlets and content creators think of it, and whether their thoughts match my own!

So you didn’t like it? I’m honestly surprised it’s that bad!

I’m not sure why, even though I preordered it I couldn’t find it anywhere. Even after going to the store page (in VR) and adding it to my wishlist, it still didn’t show up in my wishlist in my Quest Library. I’m pretty sure it didn’t even download. But in light of the review… Sorry to say but I think I’ll be refunding - if possible.
