HITMAN 3 - Year 2 Announcement

The hype is strong in this thread.

I love it.

But guys… we’re not getting dual guns.

Prove me wrong, fate. Prove me wrong again!

The Hype is strong with this one.

I’d be fine without dual guns, if they included the option to toggle 47 holding his pistol with a two-handed grip. Just press a button like swapping shoulder views when the handgun is aimed, and he raises his left hand and double-grips. Sometimes it just looks cooler than single-gripping.

From very likely to highly unlikely – these are my guesses:

  • More escalations
  • New missions in new maps
  • New missions in existing levels (with minor changes to the maps)
  • More re-skins
  • Changes to the contract mode
  • Dual-Ballers
  • Ghost Mode returns (with more maps?)
  • New sniper maps
  • Electrocution Phone makes a comeback
  • Absolution II – The Wrath of Victoria (you guessed right: You’ll play as Victoria this time)

What if one of the big community requests will be finally making the clues in Whittleton Creek optional? :crossed_fingers:

This is almost exactly what I had written on the Hitman wishlist thread many years ago on the old forum. I know a lot of people think of it as a gimmick, but a money and upgrade system would be a personal godsend for me.

Other than weapons, gear and hideout improvements, I can imagine upgrades for the suit to allow more gear to be brought, and maybe physical training for 47 for new hand-to-hand animations or faster running and parkour.

It’s just these kind of little things that would make the game much more fun for me. And I would also like a restart option to be able to grind for all the upgrades again after I’m bored having everything at 100%. I’m just crazy like that

I can’t see them implementing a money system, if only for the fact that so many people would already have some much of things unlocked that they’d have to give them the things they’ve already got in their inventories - meaning the whole system would immediately be redundant for a large number of players. And there’s not even a whole lot more items they could really add to the game for existing players to be able to buy with in-game money.

The game will be at least a year old at this point, they would have to be expecting a huge influx of new players to make spending time on a money system worthwhile.

Why must you crush my dreams so :pensive:

It’s always a joy seeing people on this forum getting excited for Hitman. I still haven’t played Hitman 3 yet and I was getting hyped for its steam release and now I’m doubly hyped with this year 2 announcement. Honestly it feels awesome to see this franchise doing this good .

Well. There weren’t really a lot of escalations that were free in the Hitman 3 maps, so not surprised that is at the top. Still when it comes to surprises, I don’t think many people would ask for more escalations. The next 3 to 4… kinda makes sense though. I remember a few people (including me) asks for changes to the Contracts Mode.

The year 2 stuff look absolutely great, but I’m wondering, why were they waiting for so long to do these things?

I don’t think it’s long? I mean, we got seven sins for this year, so they were busy the last 12 month

Seven Deadly Sins wasn’t as big as the stuff they are hyping up, comparing SDS to Year 2 proves that Year 2 easily takes, just by this trailer alone, lol

Maybe they needed this year to plan all these things for the next year. I still don’t think one year is much, if we really get all this stuff they are saying, like new locations and all :woman_shrugging:

i’m hazarding a guess but they’re not a mega-sized studio. i imagine things like et and escalations are ‘relatively’ easier to produce compared to new maps and entirely new systems (et arcade, for example). they had another studio helping during 1 and 2, i think? plus they almost certainly wanted some tasty treats for the steam release.

again, that’s all supposition on my part.

I guess, welp that was a really long wait tho, I can only hope there are good things coming out from Year 2

I don’t think any additional locations were even planned originally - they outright said around launch that it wasn’t going to happen. I think this stuff went into production as a response to the launch sales and there was potential for another massive influx of money with launching significant DLC, but they used 7DS as an interim DLC to help fund the 2022 stuff to avoid dipping too much into the H3 profits.

Will they bring back this slow mo shooting thing from absolution? Looking at these shooting targets it lets me think about this :see_no_evil: but IMO for WoA it wouldn’t really make sense  I’m just thinking about a moment where it would have come in handy…
