HITMAN 3 - Year 2 Announcement

Well, we thought there would be a nightclub mission back in Blood Money as well, it’s a weird trend.
@Screaming_Meat I agree from that picture there doesn’t appear to be much, but for Santa Fortuna we got 2 trailers that showed off the coca fields, the village, the manor, the caves, etc. I know we got very little footage from the announcement trailer, but considering how localised it was (at least with Hawke’s Bay it has a flat beach surrounding it), how dense the forestry around the house is and all the jagged rocks straight out of the Berlin forest, I just couldn’t find any hidden paths. The lake in the background is almost definitely an inaccessable background prop, and we don’t see much else. If this really is a hideout and it’s completely on its own, there’s really not much point in making anything else than the house from a design point-of-view. Of course, it’s early days though, and I know how good IOI are at hiding things from us in teasers.

i’m sure there’s a safehouse based on that pic, but the swanky forest house totally could be either that or a new map. it’s 50/50 at this point. i’m just saying we’ve been shown too little at this point to make any worthwhile assumptions. it’s certainly way too early to be concerned about anything.

sure, and that all makes sense… but it’s also all assumption. it’s fun to speculate and i’m not suggesting anyone should stop; just that we’re working from so little that it seems waaay too early to be posting concerns or worries, doesn’t it? just seems needlessly negative to me. i’m just chuffed we’re getting some more meaty* content! :+1:t4:

*that pun was genuinely unintended.

Doubt we’ll see that. It was recently confirmed that the absence was due to an engine limitation.

I can’t see them working on it, just to then only be able to implement an elevator for a single map. Would be a different story for Project 007 which would likely be using a more updated version of the Glacier engine, but H3? No way.

Agreed. Not to mention Diana and Victoria are far more guilty of this than Lucas. Man I miss Diana from earlier games when her role was just a simple outside contact for 47. Yeah she did show a little concern for 47’s wellbeing, but that’s as far as it got. Her role got too prominent from the 2nd half of Blood Money and stories have been way too fruity since. I love Berlin and Chongqing because Diana is MIA.

I have no idea what they have planned for this, but I am almost certain that they wouldn’t create an elaborate mansion just to serve as a hideout. SA already used it as a mission so there’s precedence. Hideouts in other games serve no real purpose other than shooting rats lol!

They could actually made just an hideout with a lot of challenges to complete, or with some “minigames” inside the map. We still don’t know. At this point we can expect anything.

Listen to him talk about wine in Mendoza.

Those aren’t amateur statements.

Will Year 2 finally be the Year of the Banana Unlock?

I admit: that is funny.

I also admit I am late to this conversation and y’all have moved on.

Anyone else think IOI just releases some concept art and then prowls the forum to sift through everyone’s ideas till they find the best one?

Like… let em do what they want. Y’all arguing over whether 47 (aka “Gary”, prove me wrong) would live in a nice secluded house or not. You ever seen a movie before? This game is better than that movie. Just roll with it.

Basically, my position is IOI should do whatever they want, and I’ll pay for it and play it, minor possible narrative dissonance be damned. Super serious assassin wants to dress like Saint Nick and slice faces with broadswords? How dare they!

Happy Thanksgiving everybody! Glug glug glug

Yeah, 47 has either done a lot of studying on things like that in his downtime to be well-informed for just such occasions, or he really is just that good and knowing stuff or making it up as he goes. The guy knows how to drum at a pro-level for goodness sake. The only expensive things that 47 genuinely likes are his suits and his weapons. Yeah, he gets a good deal of them from ICA, but he also gets his own personal custom items with his insignia, and those are costly. But vehicles, places to stay, things like that, unless the job requires it, I’m sure he’d stay away from those to avoid attention. He probably holds onto enough cash to bribe people for info/to forget/get him access, or to rent a car or outfit on the fly, things like that. Absolution supports that idea.

It seems like we’re starting to come down from the collective high a bit… Like others have noted, however, it’s still way too early and we have far too little information to be able to speculate on the new maps. Yes, maps plural, so even if IO (rather underhandedly) counts the (possible) safe house as one of them, we’re still getting at least one bona fide map with an actual mission.

I’m still a little apprehensive, but cautiously optimistic, about what they exactly mean by ET Arcade, storylines, maps, etc. myself but we don’t know enough to get overly positive or negative.

They could do various weapons upgrades. It still probably wouldn’t do much for most players other than free up some weapons space, particularly rifles and shotguns (the only difference between most of them being silencers and/or zoom levels). Who knows, though? :man_shrugging:

That’s too much closet space (and too many suits) anyway, especially when this is the only suit he (or anyone) needs:

That might work as well. Interesting how several of the sniper rifles don´t match their background shapes. Beta version I guess?

This, absolutely.

Perhaps people remember Perfect Dark. That game had a fairly elaborate “headquarters” with a shooting range, aircraft hangar, offices, and other stuff. It was mostly useless beyond these insanely difficult shooting range challenges and a simulator room where you could duel some enemies. But then midway through the game there was a really well done mission where you had to defend the place.

Something like this would be fun and I wouldn’t mind shooting range challenges or other things like that if they were well done.

Only just watched the trailer and the highlight of it for me was words about surprises for community that they were asking for.
I wonder what it could be this time around.
They already talked about “highly requested things from the community” in the game announcement trailer

If it isn’t the elusive target arcade, then I honestly hope it is a revamp of the contracts mode, as it is something the community has been asking for since 2016.

Better offline mode!

Nah, better to resurrect a Ghost Mode

There is a reason ghost mode shut down. Did you ever try matchmaking? It would take ages, and if you finally matched up with someone it was always HITMANIST.

Always played exclusively by matchmaking. Never had big problems.
For you to understand, I’ve been playing Ghost Mode nearly every day for at least 3-5 hours daily.
Only a few times with a friend invite.

There is a huge problem with matchmaking in Sniper Assassin, which needs (and announced) to be shut down, but still alive. Though matchmaking in Sniper Assassin takes really centuries.
Ghost Mode was rather popular and there always been opponents there
