HITMAN 3 - Year 2 Announcement

Lets assume level art/sound design is 20 and NPC art/voice/scripting is 70 percent.

I’m immediately drawn to the architecture here so much I fear it might be squandered. Thats all.

They can do a lot of great things with a safehouse as a hub, story and gameplay-wise. I’ve been asking for a hideout for the last 5 years and they don’t need to make something that has the same function as in the old Hitman games, but something with much depth and with a more prominent role.

IOI never released anything without use, Im sure the safehouse, if there even is any, will have a useage. I mean, to be honest, where does all that hideout speculation come from anyway? Hitman 3 also was supposed to launch with “many fan requested features” and we got non.

I’d love to see a challenge or two that can be completed in the safehouse. Something simple like ‘explore every room’ which unlocks a hideout suit. 47’s Signature Dressing Gown & Pyjamas.

Can someone say a few things what the community asked for?

These below were not wanted by everyone, yet were more prominent.

Codename47 remastered
Permanent elusive targets
Enhancements for contracts mode
Bonus maps/missions
Money system like the old times
Ghost mode revived
Offline progression

The return of Lucas Grey and a Codename 47 remaster. All of the fans are asking for this, trust me.

And first person perspective. I mean just not in VR but in “normal” game mode.

Sorry to be the buzz kill, but I’m not asking for the return of Lucas Grey. His arrival and the reveal of his identity spelled the end of the professional, unemotional, uncaring 47 whose only interest was in fulfilling the contract. And, he wasn’t even the main villain in a twist reveal, as he was built up to be. He served his purpose, now I’d like him to stay gone forever for these transgressions.

Not to be a buzzkill but 47 had emotions since hitman 2:sa, very minor and subdued emotions, but emotions none the less

Okay maybe not all of us but the cool ones :sunglasses::stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Well, a vague outline of them, yes, but not on the level that they were trying to make him have by H3. Now he’s actively having to suppress them with a lifetime of discipline instead of him just being “meh” in all but the most extreme of situations.

Holpefully it will be .

Would be nice if there’s’ a TV in the hideout where we could watch the news. That was a cool feature in Hitman 2 that made the world feel more alive. Was a real shame that they never did it again in Hitman 3.

As much as an isolated safehouse mansion in the middle of a beautiful forest appears to be a nice change of pace, I do have a few worries:

  • How big is this map going to be? I doubt you can explore much beyond the house, and the house itself (on the surface) appears just a little bigger than the one in Hawke’s Bay.
  • Will there be ANY NPCs at all on the map, or any dialogue if it is just 47? It’ll be another map not available in contracts mode.
  • Given it’s not a proper mission, there’s gonna be no briefing, no intel, no need for preparation, no opportunities, not even Diana’s voiceover or challenges potentially.
  • How are they going to update the shooting range every time a new weapon is added, and how is ammo going to work besides from having a very finite amount like every other game with a hideout? Besides, considering how many people (myself included) are missing items in their inventory despite owning them for 3 years, can we trust it to be reliable?
  • I doubt if this is going to be an alternate preparation method. It would take far too long to load the level, go down to the safehouse, mark your items (presumably in the same way you mark targets in contracts mode), then boot the actual level up, instead of the method we have nowadays.
  • A smaller note, will there be any new music? If so, will they update the soundtrack and add a director’s commentary mission introduction to it for deluxe edition owners? I doubt it, but still…

I don’t want to be a downer, but if this does turn out to be a chilling out map, it’s going to get old fairly quickly. If I want to chill, I can go to Sapienza, Bangkok, Hokkaido, Hawke’s Bay, Whittleton Creek, Haven Island, the outskirks of Berlin or Mendoza, and they’re still full, populated missions. I love that they’re doing this, I just can’t help but not get as hyped for this as I would for season two’s expansion pass.

Yeah, why not dual use for a safehouse? One is a mission in which the house occupied/raided maybe dinamically similar to the Diana mansion in Absolution and the other is just the map resource reused to be the safehouse.

I think the safehouse will be kind of new zeeland another boring map. i miss the size of Hitman 2 (Mumbai,Miami,Santa fortuna)
I played so many time and still suprise to explore places there

Other two popular things the community asked for:

Dual Ballers
Working elevators

there is next to nothing to go on to be making assumptions, positive or negative. like, would we be able to know the size or scope of santa fortuna from this?:

maybe i missed something, but do we know the house is a safehouse or a new mission at this point…? i’m excited too, but like i said, we got pretty much nothing to work with at this point.

We saw footage of gun racks with unlockable weapons. It’s reasonable to assume that there’s some sort of safehouse. The same video also showed footage of the forest house. Meaning it’s very likely that this is said safehouse.

Although it’s not impossible that the forest house is a mission and the safehouse with the gun racks is a completely different place. Afterall some of us thought there would be a Hong Kong mission involving a Nightclub in Hitman 3.
