This has to be the weirdest decision imaginable

IOI must really love Sapeinza Sapienza, first it got 200 challenges, and now it has a separate bundle/edition.

Dave, buddy, your like showed up on my post before my post loaded into view on the page. You need to slow down with those likes lol.

Edit: I realize my wording wasn’t very clear, what I meant was that I saw a notification on the page for a like on my post before I saw my post appear on the page.

I’m going to leave my aforementioned strong thoughts here instead of the main body of the post:

What.

Just…what?

Are we really doing this? Capitalising on Sapienza’s popularity to score a few extra pounds. We now have a hybrid system of “all the game at once” and “episodic model”; two models that do not gel well. I’m struggling to work out who this is aimed at, because veteran players already have this map, and new players are going want to play from the beginning, not from the second episode. Banking on Sapienza’s popularity for the sakes of getting some cheap kroner is not how to please the players IO.

So, not only have you now made buying Hitman WOA even more complex than it needs to be (seriously, the very point of the WOA Rebrand was to avoid purchasing problems like the ones presented here, by unifying all the games and DLC’s into one homogenous thing), you’ve now added more ambiguity to the precedings by making it harder for players to purchase your damn game.

And if this is a temporary DLC (I.E, the episode gets switched out each roadmap), then that’s just leaving yourself open to complaints about how to get the rest of the levels. Why does your marketing team have such a complexity addiction for letting people purchase the game?

Fuck off with this. Seriously. Apologies for my salty language, but I’ve had enough, and I’m putting my foot down here. Trim your goddamn branches of avarice already because they are getting too long, too conspicuous, and are now an eyesore to look at.

Kindly, @Combatglue and @Marchouette, Remove this DLC and scrap these plans. This is going to backfire.

Hitman: All 3 Games In One: Just Sapienza Edition.

What??

Seriously, What??

IOI, wh-whattttt???

This is… this is satire. This has to be someone’s idea of a joke that investors/executives saw just money signs for and OK’d it.

Wow. A whole 2016 level DLC from a 2016 game that only has this 2016 DLC and the 2016 tutorial missions… This feels like a great thing to launch and purchase in 2025!!:interrobang:

The reintroduction of the Episodic format does make me a bit worried about IOI deciding to make things complicated with newer upgrade packs designed for Episode->Part->Full->Deluxe, which could really damage their reputation, and likely also result in many players leaving the game/not purchasing the game because of how confusing it is. I feel like even this Sapienza thing is going to end with people leaving negative reviews because they did not buy the right edition.

Maybe rename “Part One” to “Introduction” then and add other standalone levels like Paris?

Honestly it should’ve been maybe Miami or a hitman 3 level, it’d give something extra for p1 owners, and hold fine on its own.

Yknow, maybe they just keep releasing these weird, piece-meal versions of the game again just so they can have a cool-looking Sale Price that supercedes any of the “Normal” versions of the game on the Steam Store Page…

reddit credit lol

As far as I know, Playstation kinda separates Game Editions from each other on their store, so at least if they pull this over there, you’ll clearly know its just Part One or just Sapienza Edition on sale.

Dude, we even did this back in the HITMAN 2016 days! Like I remember I think they eventually gave out every Season 1 Level for free to players for One Month Only over the course of I think 2017??
(No wait, I think it was when Hitman 2 had its Demo Version out and they released the original S1 maps for that… Or both, neither, and I’m confused.)

Of ALL the “try it out!” uber-cheap versions to release, why Sapienzaaaaa??

Regardless, Please remove this Bundle from stores. Please. It makes your Steam Store page even more cluttered, confusing, and I’m sure annoying if people actually buy into this 1/21 Bundle… Like, how do they get the rest? Whyyyy would they want to get this?
Help me, IOI, what do you see here?

Most useless DLC/offering for the game.

Given the frequency Part One is on special, you get so much more for so much less buying that over this.

Because Sapienza has the most bonus missions, mission stories, and challenges on it. It’s the map that could be argued to give new players the most content for starting out.

But… compared to the price and content of other editions, why though??

Like, LMAO, at least price it correctly! Here they’re selling Sapi Edition for just under 8$ CAD. On SALE Too!

They’ve historically in 2024 put Part One on sale for under 4$ CAD. That’s all 6 original levels for half the price!!

Or even the standard WOA edition! 36$ CAD on sale often last year. 20x the content for just under 4.5x the price!!

Alexa, play “Empty Out Your Pockets” by Juice WRLD…:money_mouth_face:

The fact they are trying to charge £8.50 at full price for this one level, when Part One full price is marked at £25, the value for this Sapienza DLC is atrocious. Even on a discount, really bad. As you say P1 is always discounted anyway. I could see, maybe, if it was like a quid or two max as an alternative taster thing, but it’s really bizarre either way.

I knew what you meant dw, I just happened to be checking the page as you posted :joy:

This is probably the dumbest thing they have done in terms of the editions.

  • It was clear way back in 2016 that selling maps individually was not the way to go, which is why Hitman 2 and 3 sold all their missions together. Even Hitman 2016 ditched the episodic sales and just sold everything as a big bundle.
  • It was confusing to do so many separate editions so they drastically simplified stuff with the World of Assassination rebrand, only to make it cluttered up once again with the Part 1 edition, the various smaller DLC packs, and now this.

If they wanted to more people invested in trying out the game, why not just give away a whole map for free permanently? Paris is a fantastic map that showcases what the potential of the World of Assassination is, and how enjoyable the gameplay is. The WoA Part One goes on sale for $3 on a near monthly basis, would it hurt them so much to expand the free Starter Pack?

Hell, why not give away all of Part One for free at this point, the maps have already been temporarily free multiple times and it’s clear the larger sales are from people buying the full World of Assassination.

What’s even more mystifying is that the new “Sapienza Episode” is more expensive than Part One when on sale, even when Sapienza itself is on sale!

When I saw this originally during the game update, I thought they would be selling it for 99p (or regional equivalent) not at this ludicrous price that just muddies the buying process even more.
