About a year ago I started this series where I demonstrate the most perfect possible playthrough of the missions. I had to take a break for a while due to life and now I am back to a stable enough schedule that I can finally finish the Shogun Showdown episode to conclude the Japan chapter.
I try to make every episode feel like a movie. I obsess over every little movement, camera angle, in-game event, NPC placement, etc., making all the movements line up with the music, and generally deploying what I like to call artistic gameplay, like I am directing a film with the game and its elements as the cast and everything. I don’t use mods or anything and I keep everything within the normal gameplay.
I also behave in character as 47, and make sure to demonstrate visually through gameplay 47 noticing things, instead of acting like I have meta knowledge as the player. If you watch a whole episode, you will notice that there is always a narrative constructed through the gameplay where 47 notices opportunities and makes connections in order to add to his plan.
I show how to complete every mission perfectly with Silent Assassin, and I always make use of every unique feature or gimmick of every mission. All the points of interest are acknowledged, all the cool set pieces or interesting level design features are shown off and incorporated in some way into the walkthrough, all the special escapes, all the weapons collected, all the special gadgets and weapons picked up at equipment drops, everything.
I show the most definitive, canonical way of completing the missions, meaning that I figure out the most logical method of SA that the developers intended to be the primary, and that allows me to explore and show off every inch of the map. This game is truly beautiful and the developers made something incredible with this game.
You can watch each episode like a movie and I promise it’s some of the most beautiful gameplay you’ve ever seen. I take advantage of the soundtrack, visuals, little encounters with NPCs, and all that stuff to show off how incredible this game is. The tension, ambiance, art direction, and everything is simply top notch but a lot of people miss out on it because the game takes some patience to master.
You can also use these as actual walkthroughs if you want. All my methods are replicable and non-cheating, non-cheesing, non-janky ways of getting silent assassin.
Here is the thread containing all the episodes. So far I’ve covered up to Shogun Showdown, which I will be releasing soon in the coming weeks. I highly recommend especially Invitation to a Party or At the Gates as I think those two are my favorites that I’ve done so far.
Here is a little sneak peak from Shogun Showdown:
