Is there a mod that shows the location of elusive targets in instinct?

It would make them much easier

I don’t know off-hand (and I highly doubt it… No, there isn’t). But thinking about Mumbai, and the Maelstrom. He functions similarly to an ET. Up until you identify him, then he’s highlighted Red. Yet, when you encounter some ETs - Diana will announce “THAT is The ______!” Or will stay silent for some… I’d really have to compare some of them to see if that’s the case. Like the Twin.

Point being - it seems like an inconsistency when you think about it, so one would have to chalk it up to an intentional and artificial difficulty increase. Because one can lose them if you don’t stay on them and don’t know their scripted path. Even more frustrating is when they have an escape mechanic. But I can only think of 2 ETs that do this. The Bookkeeper in Colorado goes to an SUV (and waits there for some time before he escapes, unless you blow up the getaway vehicle), and the Connor McGregor ET goes to a helicopter. I’m pretty certain there’s no way to destroy the helicopter… If there were then they might have him go to the pier. Hmm… Sniping him while he’s driving away on a boat seems like a missed opportunity.

What I’d like to see is similar to the Freelancer mode where you use your camera. It might need a new mechanic or code written into the game, but get pictures where the ET is in frame, maybe with 1 to 3 or more pics you will have in your intel tab. Then they could be highlighted red. That’d at least add more immersion and be consistent with how the Maelstrom works.

But I’m sure there are players that wouldn’t want this - feeling like it’d be diluting or ruining the experience. :man_shrugging:

They are easy as hell as they are.
Most of them.
Because we had almost each Target for 10 times now and most of the players should know them as their palm of the hand.
If you are new and never played them I advise you be extremely careful and not kill the target at once. Find it, follow it, learn it. After you know who it is, where he is and his route, go ahead and get rid of him.
You remember you have no second chance with the Elusive Target, right?
So plan accodrdingly, learn your target before striking

Most of them are so easy to find anyway (especially if you watch the briefing video for their general whereabouts) that it’s questionable why they even made them not show up in red to me. Feels kinda like just a gimmick to go with the “elusive” name. Maybe a bit of time padding too so that you are looking around for a minute, as many are very easy to kill pretty quickly.
