Las Vegas, A HOUSE OF CARDS (Mission #9) - Discussion Thread

Such a good movie! I gotta go back and watch it again.

Start with suppressed Silverballer and suppressed W2000 Sniper with low velocity ammo.

Run straight to mens bathroom on 1st floor, sedate man with glasses, hide body in space between the wall and the stalls. Wait for Schmutz to come in then either fiber wire or poison him. DO NOT SHOOT HIM AND LEAVE A BLOODSTAIN. Hide Schmutz with sedated man in corner of bathroom. Wait for the Sheik bodyguard to come in, sedate him and take his clothes, hiding him not necessary as no more people enter bathroom.

Take elevator to 7th floor, run outside to balcony and climb the light to the 8th floor. Try not to get spotted during this process. Shimmy over to the scientists room and enter as discreetly as you can, wait for door to close then shoot him in the back of the head with Silverballer. Hide his body away from doorway line of sight.

Hit the “Redial” button on the table and take out your Sniper Rifle. Wait for him to run out onto the outdoor platform and have your scope trained on him. Once he stops moving take him out with one head shot. Nobody should hear the shot if you have the proper upgrades. Put sniper away, walk outside room and exchange sniper briefcase with payment briefcase and casually walk to elevator. Head down to lobby, back to the mens bathroom and retrieve suit avoiding cameras in the process. Head to exit.

If done properly, you should get a ‘Silent Assassin’ rating though you will lose $5000 for the left behind sniper.

Defenetly not the best solution.

Totally subjective. My best solution for most levels isn’t even SA, bc I’ll remove one guard or one other NPC. If you’re going for score then the best solution is some speed run that is bound to cause a mistake if you aren’t hammering the restart button. The approach they laid out is one I have done before only I think I used to put the people in the stalls and hope no one found them :joy:

You can throw sniper to 47s balcony, form there you can put it into ICA crate. No need to lose $5000.

Discovered a little buggy, kind of fun and quite useful strategy to isolate the scientist.

If you get to the 8th floor earlier than Lateef and trigger the fire alarm, in most of the cases he won’t be affected by it. Meaning - all three bodyguards will abandon his hotel room, and another one that usually escorts him from the elevator to the room will panic too, but the scientist will calmly go to the hotel room (you can slip in right behind his back) and carry on with his routine.

However, the fire alarm doesn’t last long and the guards will come back to the room shortly after. So you have to trigger it as late as possible but before the elevator with Lateef is around the 8th floor or he will panic along with everyone else. The practical way to do it is to look at the map and trigger the alarm right when he appears on the map of the 7th floor.

Or you can just trigger “the permanent fire alarm” by exploding the bomb on the floor. However, it seems that after some time NPCs will come back to their routines regardless - and in that case you won’t be able to trigger the alarm again, so be mindful.

And btw, it seems that with this method, the “escort” bodyguard who is supposed to go with Lateef to his room and check for him inside if he doesn’t come out in case of a fire alarm, remains near the elevator and never goes to the hotel room.

And here I was running around like Usain Bolt to catch him in the elevator.

When Henrick and the Sheikh do their meeting does the briefcase ever get taken upstairs or is that only when youre participating?

Yes, the briefcases get exchanged even without your participation.
