Le Chiffre ft Mads Mikkelsen Elusive Target (June 6 - July 6 2025)

My Jimbos don’t work here, it’s bullshit!

Some oddities I found while playing in ETA earlier:

One of the guards downstairs in the barrel room can be disguised, despite clearly being more…rotund. His suit reflects that, and it looks quite weird on 47

spelling error: “Interferrence” instead of “Interference”

Spelling error: “Buy buy” instead of “Bye Bye”

This should probably be several sentences, not one massive paragraph.

Thank you for all the feedback

Seems to actually say “interreference”, which might even be an intentional joke, but I assume Diana says “interference”?

That’s just Mads. That’s how he sounds. Mind you, I’ve only seen him in two roles - LeChiffre and Kaecilius - but that’s how he sounded in both roles at any time he wasn’t actively engaging in a struggle of some sort.

Something else I noticed. This window is weird, as it seems to invert the normals of any mesh near the window where Vincente looks out of.

There appears to be no cleanup procedure to cleanup Vincente by his own guard unless you throw him off the balcony.

Also…where is everyone?!

The entire guard population in the basement seems to have been snapped out of existence.

My guess is that they nerfed parts of the level to make it more accessible to the influx of new players. Maybe due to the whole Basement-part of the main Mission Story.

Very much agree with you.

I started Hitman for the first time in more than two years! Having spent so many hours playing WOA I had put it on the shelves for such a long time and hadn’t really been paying that much attention to the roadmaps - however, seing Le Chiffre as an ET I had to get back to action.

Such a cool target and the whole remake of Paris is impressive. Felt really immersive and natural. I was pleased to see agent Smith and decided to do this “mission story” on the first level. I wish I had found out about the Smith redemption path, but being quite rusty I decided to follow the script so to say. On the second level I went for the eyedrops which was a cool idea but it was way to easy to execute in my opinion.

Really enjoyed being back into the role of 47 :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Not just the guards but the cooks too  (and it troubles me way too much since I keep reading the name of this thread as “Le Chef”)

Adding my feedback.

I last played Hitman in 2022. I was a huge fan of Le Chiffre from James Bond and got pretty hyped to see Mads back.

Absolutely loved it. I am a huge fan of Hitman since 2007 and I still missed the Drop?, McGregor and Valiant but came back for this.

If you plant a banana on the floor in the basement before going to the poker game and fail to get to the antidote, before the usual scenario plays out - Le Chiffre thwarts the banana plan and taunts you.

That is some next-level shit with the Developer’s Foresight!

They put quite a bit of thought into avoiding that softlock scenario, but didn’t do anything to avoid a softlock if you kill Le Chiffre while poisoned and don’t get the antidote.

I gave it a go and got stuck in the chair forever.

Ok I also broke the game:

Get an invite and go to the poker game.
On your first interaction, fold.
You’ll stand up and the poison will have started.
Instead of running away, hang out.
Le Chiffre wins at poker but doesn’t dialogue with you at all, like he does when you play out the poker game scenario with intent to win.
He goes over to his glass with about 20 seconds of the poison left.
I went to stand by him to try to “blend in” at that spot but it wasn’t available.
BUT then right when the poison timer runs out, your screen goes black and for half a second, the blend in spot turns on!
Blend in as you’re being knocked out from poison.
The audio for the scripted scene will now play out, but you’ll be stuck in a “seated” position in the Palais top floor main room, where you blended in. At this point you can’t move.
You will have immediately become “compromised” and lose SA when you wake up from the poison in this bugged place.
Guards start yelling at you that you’re trespassing. As you’re bugged out, you can’t do anything.
A guard will come to you to confront you at which point you can actually can start the “fake surrender” and combat scenario.

CONGRATULATIONS YOU ARE NOW COMPROMISED AND IN YOUR BOXERS

I absolutely hate phone pictures as screenshots but there is no easy way to get screenshots from a steam deck to your fuckin cloud files, so we have to make do:

PS After this, the game runs the ENTIRE dialogue of you being tied up and Smith rescuing you — even as you run around hiding from and fighting guards.

I’m actually curious about the poisoning: in-universe, was it supposed to only render 47 unconscious? In the film, LeChiffre is actually trying to kill Bond with it, Diana’s dialogue and urgency implies that she expected fatal results, and the implication seems to be that this is what LeChiffre does with his enemies. So, did 47 only survive because of his physical superiority and LeChiffre just took advantage of the fact that he only passed out to attempt an interrogation?

If so, a wonderful dialogue opportunity may have been lost. After 47 wakes up and he and LeChiffre start talking - God, it’s weird typing out a sentence about two characters from completely different franchises having a conversation and it’s not fanfiction - 47 could have said: “You just wanted me away from everyone else. You expected to bring me here for questioning,” or something of that sort. And LeChiffre says: “No, Mr. Rieper. I expected you to die.”
