Hammers definitely should be lethal particularly when thrown - could probably remain KO for melee but throwing should definitely kill the target.

seems to me that it would be more logical if the claw side was the kill, and the hammer side was just a KO … maybe there could be a way to select which happens … perhaps a crouch throw/melee would be a lethal action whereas a standing throw/melee would be a KO … or maybe it’s a random action which would make the hammer a truly risky way to KO NPCs

Ive killed several NPCs with the lead pipe before and I think the mace should be leathal.

Most of the KO methods would have a high risk of severe permanent injury or accidental lethality in real life, and the ones with somewhat lower risk wouldn’t KO them for very long.
Having a reliable way to take out NPCs without killing them seems to me like an acceptable break from reality for better gameplay.
