Friendly reminder Jordan Peele fired his manager after losing this film in a bidding war.

Yeah, I heard about that. Seems kinda harsh, unless Jordan was just willing to bid it all for this or something.

I’m not really into Jordan Peele’s brand of horror. He’s kinda been a one trick pony where he created one good horror movie and then Hollywood wanted a piece of him. This isn’t meant to dog on his work, but there’s a reason why people still talk about Get Out and not his other movies that released afterwards. So it’s not a total loss that Peele is missing out on this.

Zack Creggor, I’ve been following his work since he did sketch Comedy with WKUK. He created Barbarian which in itself is a good horror movie. So I look forward to seeing what comes out of this especially with whatever twist comes out of it. He is working on a Resident Evil project which I have full faith he can do it justice.

I have a strong stance that Comedy and Horror work in tandem with each other and by extension anyone affiliated with either or genre can cross over into them without much issue. But that’s also cause I have a strong belief that Comedians have some of the more dark and imaginative ideas to put on page and film.

I’ll definitely be seeing Weapon in theaters.

Agreed about Jordan Peele, his movies aren’t bad but they are well below the hype that he gets. I always think of the Family Guy bit about him:

However my favourite of his is probably Us. Get Out was fine but a bit generic and obvious. Us was also pretty predictable, but it at least felt a little bit more original, to me at least - I liked the symbolism and stuff in it more, like the whole scissors thing, it felt like he’d put more thought into it. But it’s still far from perfect. While Nope was kinda just a terribly paced mess of half baked ideas.

Back to Barbarian, I liked it well enough for the most part though it was not great imo and also over-hyped. But I do want to see Weapons when it’s out.

The Long Walk was my favorite Richard Bachman Stephen King novel as a teenager (which probably says something about me :eyes:), so I’m really curious how this turns out, especially since much of the novel is centered on Garraty’s internal thoughts.

Kung Fury: The Movie (Kung Fury 2) 10 Min Sizzle Reel got leaked recently. And it’s as high octane, bat shit crazy as you would expect. Hopefully your dopamine receptors aren’t shot from short form content.

Given the film is stuck in post production this was a pleasant surprise.

As a massive Superman fan I have to say this trailer is…

Doing absolutely nothing for me, like, nothing at all.

Just from the title I was hoping it was about His Infernal Majesty…
I don’t really care about sports movies but this looks the equivalent of “elevated horror” to the sports genre, if you know what I mean. Looks pretty good, some cool visuals. First I’m hearing about it but I’ll watch it for sure.

Since when do PowerPuff Girls villains play American football?

While they’re using Jordan Peele’s producer credit as a big draw to this film, so I’m unsure of who/how this director’s production might usually turn out, Peele has been producer/distributor on some really interesting and good horror/thriller movies lately so that gives me some hope.

I mean, the “sports horror” genre feels like an incredible niche and this feels like a great concept already, not to mention the weird sudden devil-based twist in this.
(The original title for the script was “The GOAT” which I feel would have been a way better demonic double-entendre for this, but hey, if HIM sells, then let HIM sell… :smiling_face_with_horns:)

If they don’t subtitle it “The Quest for More Money” then what’s the point! :angry_face_with_horns:

Neat though! My god Mel Brooks, retire and like relax for a moment okay? When this movie comes out, he’s probably going to be over 100!

Well…fingers crossed it’s at least better than Spaceballs The Animated Series

I love that he says “we asked what the fans want… and instead we’re making this movie!” :joy:

News from the Independent Indie Scene.

WNUF Halloween Special and Out There: Halloween Mega Tape (WNUF 2) are getting a spin-off releasing this year. “Trick or Treat with Reed Richmond”

For people not in the know. WNUF is an analog horror/comedy franchise created by Chris LaMartina. The general concept of it is they parody the culture at the time around Halloween with the primary plot being focused around a Broadcast of some kind where something goes wrong.

They’re extremely fun films to watch around that time of the season and for many who grew up within these timeframes it’s really nostalgic down to the commercials Chris and his Collaborators create for these films.

I highly recommend checking his stuff out, not cause I met the guy and will shill anything WNUF related, but cause the stuff he creates with his wife especially within this world is very fun.
