Well, it’s Supergirl. They’re gonna do whatever they can to make sure it’s not as well received as Superman. Same thing happened last time they tried with this character. Makes you wonder why they bothered at all, then.
This is the stupidest thing I have ever read. No, Heis, they aren’t intentionally making the Supergirl movie bad to prop up the film that has already had a full theatrical run and run on streaming.
Oh, consciously, surely not. However, films, television series and video games with female leads that are spinoffs or derivatives of works with male leads have a history of, shall we say, interesting executive decisions.
I think we all know who will sweep the 2026 Oscars this year.
Honestly, I’m unironically excited for this, this is my kind of jam.
no one stays dead or old. just gotta hand them a boat load of money and pray the film has a high return on investment. consume and play into nostalgia.
RIP Sam Wilson Captain America.
They never gave you a chance. ![]()
Well, they did, they just didn’t put him in a show or movie people liked very well. Also, Sam was supposed to be Captain America, and right now, sorry to say, America is a place that doesn’t even want a Black man as president, never mind a superhero that’s supposed to be a symbol of the country. They’d probably cheer if Red Skull became the new CA.
Obama doesn’t count?
The very next president we had after Obama was Trump, as a direct reaction to the fact that Obama was made president. That tells you all you need about how much of America did not want Obama to be there.
But he had two terms.
In fairness Trump’s first opponent was one of the least likeable people in politics at the time. I’m not entirely sold on Trump’s first presidency being a direct consequence of Obama being president.
Also, and to bring this back to the original topic, the trailer doesn’t actually say “Captain America will return…”. It says “Steve Rogers will return”. Sam Wilson is still Captain America.
I’m going to have your back here, it was totally a factor. Just listen to the way that any Trump supporter talks about Obama, at best it’s with bitterness and complete disdain. Obama definitely wasn’t perfect, he kept up the war in the middle east and didn’t do much for disenfranchised people in the US, but I don’t think think that’s what these people care about.
