That’s impossible. JPIII is the worst film in the series that’s been released so far, so something you put on it’s level can’t be better than the last three, because the last three were better than JPIII
Never has something been so damned by so faint a praise.

It was fun enough a film. Was it great? No. Did it have Dinosaurs? Yes. Did they eat people, yes.
I don’t think it was a bad film, neither was it great. It was perfectly serviceable for what kinda movie it was.
The whole “oops I hit his front wing again” was just artistic liberty. With all the cameras they have these days when there is a crash they can see exactly where the drivers eyes were and then all the sensors tell them exactly where the steering wheel was pointed and if the throttle or brake (or both) were being applied. You just couldn’t get away with that more than once. Certainly not 3x in 5 races or whatever it was in the film.
Additionally all the other teams, the fans, and the stewards can hear all of any teams radio communication from the time the car pulls out of the garage until it’s plugged back in. Other than that one giant nit pick (which made the movie way more fun), it was pretty spot on F1 stuff (with them driving actual F2 cars). I’m glad you liked it! Now go get back into watching races (bc the movie was really just a giant advertisement). ![]()
Yeah, I figured tho whole thing was far from plausible, but agree it made it a lot more fun, since I wasn´t expecting that ![]()
Yup, one gigantic ad which unfortunately won´t work on me, cause I find F1 races rather boring really
(aside from Monaco maybe, Monaco´s interesting)
It’s been pretty good this year and last compared to others, but yes, F1 has always been more of a procession than a race; qually on Saturday is where the excitement happens.
hmmm. Maybe you should binge watch all of Drive to Survive (the other giant F1 ad) on Netflix’s and then you’ll be roped back in ![]()
Doubt it
I wouldn´t mind watching it just for fun though. Actually have it in my wishlist.
On the flip side though, I might just go and play one of those older F1 games I bought in a bundle years ago… ![]()
I was looking for something to watch tonight and discovered that Netflix over here has all the Naked Gun movies. So I watched the first one… and really enjoyed it!
The whole movie is wonderful work with absolutely wild shenanigans happening while Leslie Nielsen’s character plays it all straight (or tries to look as competent as he’s supposed to). While a few jokes might have aged a bit poorly, overall it’s a slapstick, silly, witty bit of fun for a noir-styled cop movie where everything keeps going wrong.
After watching the film, I decided to look up some stuff for the new reboot/legacy-sequel with Liam Neeson as front-runner I’ve heard some good hype for, and yeah I think it could also be great!
This led me to a 20-minute documentary on Leslie Nielsen’s career on film, and it’s a really neat look at his lengthy and varied body of work. Mostly due to his start as a drama actor and pivot into comedy actor, using those dramatic skills he’d perfected by that time.
(Also, apparently the Police Squad show the Naked Gun is based off of, was a TV BOMB! (Didn’t even get all its first 6 episodes aired before cancelled). But thanks to a home video release and an apparent smash VHS hit, it sparked enough buzz to make a movie franchise and kick off Nielsen’s new comedy stardom.
Excited to check out the new Naked Gun, and hopefully the other sequels now I know they’re readily available on Netflix. Also here’s a fun and touching PSA on comedy movies in general. ![]()
ALSO also, I found out not long into the movie, that the main bad guy played by Ricardo Montalban also played one of the villains in my favourite throwback, Kim Possible! (The voice, the cadence, mwah! ![]()
)
Just got back from “Fantastic Four: First Steps” and I loved it.
From the retro-futuristic style of Earth to the almost “Interstellar” vibes in space, the movie looks great. Effects work is very good and all of the actors just gel with the characters and eachother (I was skeptical about Pedro Pascal and Joseph Quinn, but they brought their A-game and won me over). They all have great chemistry.
I’m not a big fan of Michael Giacchino, I think most of his stuff sounds samey and a bit flat, but this score was extremely memorable, and felt different from his other stuff. The theme for Silver Surfer especially, I thought was partially rousing and partially tragic. Really good stuff.
I’d say Vanessa Kirby’s Sue Storm / Invisible Woman, is the standout performance in this. Her character is immensely powerful, and she manages to give a performance to go with the effects/action.
Galactus is done justice in this. And he is terrifying (as much as a character like this can be).
Nice to see a Marvel film that feels self contained as well.
But would you say

I literally did everything in my power to avoid writing “such and such was fantastic” because the “say that again” meme makes me want to rip my eyes out with a spoon.
Goat

I also watched it tonight and thoroughly enjoyed it. It was everything I had hoped the 2005 films had been. I’ve waited so long to see Galactus done well and he was every bit in this film.
It’s good to see the team again.
Say that again…That again
Why a spoon cousin? Why not an ax or a knife?
Because it is dull you twit! It’ll hurt more.

How about this one:

Back in June I mentioned that a little independent film called Trick or Treat with Reed Richmond was releasing in August.
Well I had the pleasure of watching the film yesterday, and I can safely say it’s a fun hour long special akin to the various Halloween specials of yester-years.
The film follows a standard special one hour format and unlike WNUF and Out There (WNUF 2) it doesn’t jump around or fast forward especially with repetitive commercials. Rather the special follows segments surrounding Halloween between its origins to the various monsters that became part of the holiday. After every segment it unveils a Trick or Treat tied to the segment and then it go into ad breaks which for keen eyed viewers can pick up on references to both WNUF and Out There. It’s very much a companion piece to Out There specifically simply because we get more Reed Richmond who in itself is just fun to watch.
The one thing I can hammer home is how much of a treat these films are. Especially when you’re able to establish the connective tissue and link everything in a cohesive timeline.
