New Elusive Target: THE DISRUPTOR (Second Run: November 15 - December 8 2024)

Finally a relase date, it seems that they’re holding on revealing who it is until the very last second. Wouldn’t it make more sense marketing wise if they reveal the target before release to generate more hype?

I guess watching the hype fizzle out outside of the core Hitman community with The Drop (since it was revealed three months in advance) made them want to hold onto it until just before it goes live so that the wait is only a day and then its live. That way people that aren’t already playing WoA are more likely to impulsively buy the game. For a one-time only mission. :joy:

I can relate to that unfortunately, but in my case it was worse because I didn’t even got to play the ET I wanted. I bought H2 (about 6 months after release) solely because I wanted to kill Sean Bean, only to find out what ETs were. I’ve hated that format ever since.

On the other hand, the hype around the Drop was more about the fact that it was new and less about the celebrity status of the guest star, who was hardly of the caliber of Bean and Busey. If this one is who we think it is, or some of the other options, it’s likely to catch more interest than Vegas did. Might be wiser to release the info at least a little bit earlier.

Oh boy, I love Hitman because of all its detailed snadbox levels

Creates a “coming this month” graphic, doesn’t post until a week beforehand. Lol.

I’m not gonna be mad that IOI was quiet on this. If the rumours that this was some deal with the WWE and event that were supposed to coincide getting delayed are true, I can understand all the uncertainty about it.

Still, hoping for a fun level with murder puns, a cool suit (is that a fur coat 47 has on?) and if it is indeed boxing, an opportunity for 47 to show off his guns because it’s Pride Month and the bi’s need to eat.

Also roadmap, please!

If it’s McGregor I rather skip the target, I simply don’t want to give him the attention.

You’ll still start the contract for that suit though. No resisting that temptation.

Irish kung-fu? Now that’s getting interesting
How come i’ve never heard of that EPIC movie before

I have all the suits I need, black, red tie and gloves. Throw in one with a coat. The rest are awful.

When I’m done with him, he’s gonna be more like Gone-or McGregor, amirite??

Everytime i unlock a new suit i look at it in the menu and then use the signature with gloves, the BM or occasionally the Absolution suit lol

Right, I’ve kept quiet on this for a while, but I’mma be mildly annoyed for a hot minute or two.

This entire CelebrET scenario has been completely mishandled PR-wise in my opinion. Shadow-dropping Elusive Targets to keep people invested as a short-term solution, staying quiet about the next roadmap that, from every month/ content drop before, you would’ve at least released more information by now, and everyone in the player-base is left twiddling their thumbs for new content to play for 2/3rds of the month, that is meant to be in the newest roadmap, even if only partially.

If the rumors are true of IOI being forced to hold off on releasing new information, be it for contractual reasons, or due to some other sort of meddling, then this should’ve been lightly explained to us, instead of keeping all players in the dark about the situation. Legal red tape is one thing, but it’s not a gag order, and shouldn’t be treated as such.

My best advice going forward? Talk to us. Even if you’re limited in what you are able to say, some information on new content or the ongoing situation is better than no information, even if it’s not about the new CelebrET. We only now know the update will drop sometime next week, and that happened less that seven hours ago, when it should’ve happened two weeks ago. This did not need to take so long, even with legal issues in the way.

You alienate your userbase if you do not share new developments in your game, be it good or bad. Plenty of games have died the death of mistrust between developer and players because one side refuses to speak because what they can say is incomplete (apparently not realising they can add that as a qualifier), and the other side gets impatient in waiting as it doesn’t feel good being ghosted by developers when we know full well that content is coming but we don’t know when.

Frankly, we all know who the next target is from context clues and from Instagram, so any sense of mystery has long past its sell-by date, which just adds to the frustration of waiting for confirmation.

I hope some useful information is gleamed out of this rant, and I hope IO learn and fix their current PR problems. Silence is not golden, it is paradoxically deafening.

Kinda graphic video warning and it’s a couple years old.

Ouchie.

If this is the guy and he can’t come back ^this is most likely why. There’s a (next) video with a podcaster I shall not mention that says that isn’t something a lot of people can come back from. So IO could probably go with it without any comeback fight promo and not get as many new players they might’ve been hoping to snag.

My impulsive need for stuff is why I won’t be skipping this one. My 47 canonical is a hoarder with OCD.

If any of his living arrangements are to go by, he’s very minimalist. He did have a habit of collecting weapons from guards and targets between 2000 and 2006. Maybe he that’s why he lived so minimalistic to keep the hoarding in check.

I know it was just assets reuse in freelancer, but I still like to think that 47 stole soaps and bathrobes from Gamma and the Himmapan Hotel.
And that’s why they can be found, logo, monogram, and all, in his bathroom.
Because you know, free!

Even a genetic engineered human clone designed for the sole purpose of contract killing, is just like us. This is why 47 is so relatable as a character.

He’s an enthusiastic Collector, just like Rodan!

In Germany we call them “Messies”. Hehe.

I really want to agree here. I find it a bit frustrating that all the recent announcements seem very arbitrary. I wonder whether there is a real plan at all? There are no news about 007 or the announced RPG, and there are no hints about a possible new hitman game either.

I think the communication between developers and players isn’t very good at the moment. In general, not just in relation to hitman  that’s just my personal impression of course.
