New Elusive Target: THE DISRUPTOR (Second Run: November 15 - December 8 2024)

I didn’t hear these rumours around IOI potentially doing a deal with WWE? If they were or have, that is pretty damn cool! WWE is a huge juggernaut and will be great for IOI, even if it’s a possible future Elusive Target in Year 4 :slightly_smiling_face:

I guess there’s not much chance Donald Sutherland was secretly collaborating with IOI to play an ET? Never was much of a wrestling fan, especially since it’ll be like a repeat of the Rage.

Admittedly, my own ideas are pretty out-of-pocket. I keep thinking of Hunter Schafer playing a high roller, and I don’t even really know why.

Or Alexa Demie as…someone.

Funny enough, I never even watched Euphoria.

I’ve watched some Inside No. 9 and now I kind of want either Reece Shearsmith or Steve Pemberton (or both) to be ET. Admittedly, they would probably be double target in Dartmoor, but I feel like they would fit within WOA.

This reminds of the ‘oh no demon, release Reece’ sequence, just rewatched it recently. Those two would make one hell of a ET for sure with tons of a hidden jokes.

Wonder if they’ll bother to announce the maintenance period for the patch that’ll load this ET into the game. Last patch, they decided to tweet about the maintenance period for the first time less than five minutes before it started…

I don’t like saying this, but I’m rapidly getting to the point where I just don’t care anymore about roadmaps or announcements. I load the game about once a week now, usually on a Friday afternoon or Saturday morning, just to see if there’s anything new and sometimes there is, sometimes there isn’t.

I don’t need tweets or announcements or months of roadmaps any longer. They can announce the new elusive target in game on the day it releases for all I care at the moment. There has been too much “Coming Soon” business for my taste and I’m over it.

I don’t mind “coming soon” too much, as long as it’s not all there is. If it’s accompanied by actual teasers and small snippets, it’s fun and stakes my curiosity in what’s next. What’s tiring is that mostly, we’ve been getting “sorry, no new info right now, but more coming soon” every few weeks for the last few months. Not including the “we’re working on more, but I can’t talk about it right now”, those are fine. It’s the nothingness that exhausts me.

Not sure if that’s maybe exacerbated by the fact that I still care a lot about this game.

I care about it quite a bit too, which is why I keep starting it at least once a week. I’ve also been running through the extra escalations that are available via Peacock but I’m just not paying much attention anymore to these “I can’t say anything” tweets and “I would like to announce that we’ll be making an announcement” messages anymore.

If IOI wants to release more roadmaps, I’m all for it, but I’m just not sitting on the edge of my seat in anticipation anymore.

I didn’t mean to imply that you don’t care, sorry if it came across that way! What I meant to say was, maybe this fake suspense is fun for someone who isn’t hyperfixated on Hitman WoA in 2024. :upside_down_face:

Well not total “official” rumours, like widespread , but LandirtHome posted his theory on this backend-delay and radio silence on this up above.

He seems more knowledgeble about this whole enterprise than me so it seems plausible.
Also its not WWE its UFC lmao shows how much I know…

So here’s the thing about that. IOI could have said “Yes, we have an agreement with a sponsor and we are coordinating release with that sponsor” and avoided all the conjecture. Instead it was tease after “soon!” after tweet. The company is free to handle their own affairs however they want, but the community will also respond how they will.

I’m starting to feel to sticking to play the older titles (even Absolution), uninstall H3/WOA and then just play MGSV instead.

This based on the lack of a proper offline mode with all the content and that the servers disconnects already wrecked my nerves.

I think we’re at the point where we’re too far and in between with information that overall engagement with HITMAN 3 atleast for me is at an all time low.

We’ve been told about how exciting stuff is in the pipeline, but halfway through the year and all we really got so far was Year 4 ET where for some people have became tedious to the point of what’s the point chasing after something when ET Reward Tracks have been completed since Year 1 and desperately need some type of additions or expansion.

We have the Celebrity Target coming up really soon, and while discourse and theories have been thrown about surrounding it, the information regarding it has ran its course to the point where this might be the only thing to look forward to this year.

The more I wait for information and the roadmap the more I feel like we need to begin twilighting support on this title and ultimately future proof it for offline play and unlockables.

Also in the “I don’t care anymore” territory.
It just what is currently the wisest behaviour to have.

Even outside of the lack of roadmap, or of good communication.
Too many things that were the fuel of the community around the game either went nowhere, or ceased.

  • No more contract submissions for the FC
  • The freelancer Coin, and akin questions about the game/bug/patch went nowhere (all jokes about it aside, it’s now past the respectful, and feels symptomatic), don’t make winking emoticons if you don’t do anything after that, and look like you never intended to.
  • No novel things brought into the game (that one is more than fair so far into the game life, but I still think there are a few interesting items that could be brought instead of another reskin. And with them interesting challenges.)

It feels like IOI doesn’t care. As fair as it is after so long, and more to care about. The conclusion stays: so why should I?

And that’s without going into the problematic side about what they (hypothetically still) choose to care about, and do.
Which, if true, make them for me go from this fair neutral, to antagonistic.
Because they do care about some things. Some of them I heartily hate.

I’d never go as far as to say they don’t care, simply because without the community and the devotion we share for HITMAN through its lowest points and subsequently returning time and time again. We as fans have taken part in the myriad of reasons behind their success.

I just think communication on the future of HITMAN is what we need now more than anything. This ET was slated for Spring, but spring is over and we’re just about reaching Mid Summer. Now that we know this Illusive Elusive Target is coming this week and we still have no clue what the future of this game looks like til absolutely last minute. I’m very cautious about how they’re gonna extend the repetitive content reactivation cycle up until the Fall and by extension the remainder of this year.

I haven’t touched Hitman 3 since The Undying, now that we’re well past that and the sea of reactivations have been firing off at all cylinders im trying to be excited for something new, but I know new is gonna be a very brief one off target.

They should just make a DLC with Grey. Not that this would solve any problems, I am just thinking it would be fun

And a Codename 47 remaster, because since the Tomb Raider Remaster I am all in!

I dunno, isn’t it a bit of a cliché to add in a Zombie mode like so many other games do…?

Errrmmm excuse me Hitman already has a zombies mode, in the mobile Hitman: Sniper game you will see it clearly has a last stand survival zombie game.

You forgot about the BM Zombies.

I feel like its not that they don’t care, but they’re now catering more to new people just buying into the game rather than continuing to support the playerbase that has been around for years. Which is why the Y4 ETs are slowly limping along and we’re getting the occasional new challenge thrown in.

If there wasn’t the potential for an influx of cash new players by creating the Connor McGregor unknown CelebrET, I doubt it would have ever been something we would get this week. Since they didn’t create any new ETs for over a year between The Rage and The Drop.

The focus is to keep money coming in until its time for their next game to release.
