While I am grateful that IO have chosen one of my challenges to feature yet again, I think they should’ve mentioned who in the community came up with each of the challenges in the blog post at least.
The Premium Content (aka DLC) doesn’t look at all appealing tbh.
Leave it to others to buy then, I don’t see it as a loss… I just won’t buy it; and those who do can support IO further.
Ok. Was not expecting this to be on Sgail. Not sure about the fur pimp coat either.
I’m gonna hold you guys to that word “exciting” used to describe the updates. Because, really, of all things that can happen with this update, if a fix to the fuse in the safehouse garage isn’t among them, I’m really not gonna give a fuck what else is happening, with the possible exceptions of announcing The Wild Card is coming back, ETs are being made permanent, or the Tactical Turtleneck with gloves is on the way. Anything beyond those three and I don’t care; just fix the damn fuse in the garage.
Edit: oh, didn’t see that the roadmap had already been posted. Sigh.
May I ask, what is wrong with him? I don’t follow MMA and am not really familiar with the guy.
What a pathetic patch… A total of nine bug fixes in the patch notes.
That’s disappointing.
The mission design will certainly be good, the gleeful association with McGregor is not.
Legitimate question to the mods: I’m partial on making a whole new topic to say how much of a real life disgrace it is for IOI to celebrate McGregor.
Is it OK? Or is it better to keep it in the relevant threads.
It seems I was right about McGreggor. I hate to be right in this instance.
It’s okay to create a thread regarding the target. However keep it sober, as much as I might dislike McGreggor. I don’t want to see a thread with the sole purpose is to shit on him. But it’s also okay to mention his wrongdoing.
I don’t support IO in this endeavour and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
Multiples accusations of assault, robbery and sexual assault.
Aw what a shame, seems the celebret will be something that doesnt exist anymore, oh well guess ill just play the returning ets instead
Ah. Well, I usually go for poison on ETs, but it seems like this one will be getting his face in the toilet.
I wonder if Conor will be playing Hitman?
It looks cool. I’m eager to play. Thanks IO!
No problem.
I will keep it sober and to the roadmap topic when created.
Ok, yeah, gotta tell you guys at IO, not feeling this one at all. The last season was a firework show, this one is just a few party favors going off a minute after the ball drops.
While I am glad that the boat cinematic in Freelancer has been fixed, as it’s one of the things I’ve been waiting for, it’s pretty much the only part I’m actually happy for. The rest of it is meh at best. The items being unlocked are really just more reskins of items that are next to useless to begin with. The suit unlock is fine, but nothing remarkable. The Twitch drop, really guys, you need to put more interesting things behind those.
The ET is disappointing in the choice of location. We still have four maps that have never seen an ET, and while I can maybe understand three of them because those who haven’t purchased the WoA version as a total set may not necessarily have all those maps and would miss out, there’s no excuse for Mumbai at this point, especially since you’re going back to H2 maps with a brand new ET.
As for the target, listen: I don’t care about Connor McGregor, and what he did or did not do. Every celebrity has heinous shit in their life, whether public or hidden; there are no saints in this world. I’m not excusing it, but I really don’t care because it’s no different than anyone else who could have been picked. Let us kill him and we can live vicariously through that. However, if what I’ve been hearing is true, then there really is no excuse anymore to not bring back The Wild Card. You’ve put in a celebrity ET who is, shall we say, disreputable, and brought back the Undying already and I know Sean Bean is more expensive than Gary Busey. Plus, with Busey’s career not exactly thumping right now, he’d probably be open to renewing the agreement for any money or publicity he could get. So no more bullshitting; if you’re bringing McGregor, bring back Busey.
And that’s pretty much all I have for now, except that it’s time, IO, to admit that the show has wound down and it’s now cleanup time. Focus on fixes, and releasing items and suits that have been requested, and don’t worry about making a big show about new content; we’re ready to let this game enjoy its retirement years.
If everyone that McGregor has battered or wronged, both in and out of the ring, buy the game for a virtual taste of revenge - I reckon IOI will make a reasonably healthy return on investment.
Snarky jokes aside, I now see virtually no reason other than economics standing in IOI’s way to bring back the Gary Busey target.
I predict that early September will begin the Season of The Drop, with a DLC pack and a reactivation of the ET.
