Damn it, so still no helicopter explosion kill for me… Gonna do your method anyways, it sounds fun and cool.
Played around and realised that if you’re doing the Mission Story, even though Diana suggests you need to “convince” Quinn to let you take his place (implying you need to KO him/take his disguise). If you KO his trainer/guard and disguise as him - there is a conversation between him and 47 where you can actually convince him and he’ll literally give you his outfit.
Called it March 30… what
All right so, upon further experimentation with blowing up the helicopter, it is clear that this is not a viable method, and does not provide you with consistent SA. Turns out I just did it really well on my first try.
You have to get the explosive placement right, and you have to time the trigger so that the target’s body is not seen as it plummets to the icy, rocky waters below. Do not rely on this kill for an easy SA. With experimentation you can figure out the placement and timing well, but blowing up the helicopter from the inside does not guarantee you were a silent assassin.
In other observations… This mission is pretty great. Congrats and thank you to the devs and people who worked on it. There is a lot to love. Isle of Sgail is an inspired choice, one I didn’t see coming but one which makes perfect sense. The atmosphere is suitably iconic and the tone, while dark and ominous due to the map, also has a playful side that acknowledges the ridiculousness of a secret society holding a caged death match on a secluded 1%-ers’ island.
The mission has a lot of new dialogue, and it’s some of the best stuff IOI has written. (The actors’ performances with said dialogue are all great, although McGregor is the weak link, and comes off to me as a tryhard tough guy who can’t act. He can kick my ass, but he can’t act.) My favorite character is Quinn’s zen trainer – he gets lots of great lines.
The mission also has plenty of kill opportunities, from the Mission Story to the obvious traps/setups like the iron maiden and the bench press, to, in classic Hitman fashion, more random, simple but no less deadly opportunities scattered around the map (propane tank with pyrotechnics, anyone?).
Anyway, I don’t like Conor McGregor, but I like this content.
Everyone has. And yes, it’s still not working.
Honestly over some time i can see the first forming into the last mayyybe but idk what they were thinking with the Mendoza one
Isn’t he one of the suppliers in Mendoza for Freelancer?
He got drowned. And I shot him about 60 times. And I even went so far as to dump his body into the North Sea. He’s dead. He’s fucking dead.
and why would the Ark society spend probably millions of dollars to resurrect him? this guy is no one important and if he “failed” at killing Tim Gunn(or whatever his name is) they definitely would not waste resources bringing this guy back.
I don’t think they paid for it. The briefing refers to him as a multi-billionaire, so he probably had some arrangement to spend whatever it took to revive him.
You talking about The Disruptor or actual McGregor, there?
Next is Disruptor returns?
likes Mark Faba?(Undying)
I wonder if the pile of money IO spent on Convicted Criminal Connor’s fee would have been better spent on development of a new DLC map, instead of funding the guy’s deadbeat lifestyle? Food for thought!
I liked it. I did the ET with the prescribed method - started in the Harbor, listened to the guy on the phone. Then listened to the people outside the door while phone guy phased through said door. Then listened to the dialogue from the two waiters in the wine area.
From there I watched the fight a bit, stole an Ark Member disguise, and stopped the fight with the bell. Followed the guy pretending to be 47 (lol), stole his disguise, gave a pep talk to the target and he straight up gave me his disguise. Went back to the fight, won, free exit.
Next I tried the arcade and there are some bugs. I killed the weak guy, took his disguise, tried to start the fight but the button was greyed out.
Eventually it ungreyed, fight started, and… stopped in the middle as the weak guy’s body was found.
Welp, it broke. Couldn’t get it to start back up so I wandered off.
The target eventually goes and has a chat with a waiter to demand Atlantide (this bit was pretty funny) and then another chat with an Arkitecht in the Chapel, who has arranged for the weak guy’s murder. They don’t know he’s dead.
The target is eventually declared the winner of the fight and just hangs out in the arena until I plugged him in the head. Onto arcade level 2, and I was really really looking forward to fighting him in the GAMA facility because oh my god a multi-map elusive target would have been an extremely exciting surprise.
Nah level 2 is just level 1 but no disguise changes and don’t get seen doing illegal stuff. Boring. The disguise changes are half the fun and you need to change outfits in order to see all the different kill methods and dialogues. There’s the fight, poisoning Atlantide, iron maiden, guard spotting weights, shooting a speaker above the ring, Raider 47 pep talk, I don’t even know what you can do if you disguise as the Master of Ceremonies… and they ban disguise changes. Utterly deranged design.
His Model is yeah, so there all also two other NPCs that use this Model in Mendoza besides Quinn and the Supplier.
This is clearly a deliberate strategy. Because it’s so easy to screw it up, most players will end up having to come back, day after day, to have another crack at it.
If you really suck and insist on beating it, or just don’t commit to frequent retries, you’ll end up having to buy the DLC.
One other bit of trivia… In that movie his last name was Knox. And who was head of Kronstadt?
So… what’s the deal with Atlantide being present? Didn’t 47 bust up that whole thing, like, three years or so prior to the events of this ET, if I’m counting correctly? Did someone start it up again, or is someone who works for the Ark Society a buyer from Krish and Vholes, and decided to use this event to finall sell off their surplus?
