Next Hitman Game - Discussion Thread

I’d love to see that gritty Hitman Contracts theme return in the next game!

Them Beldingford Manor vibes!!

Can’t remember when or where but they mentioned it hopefully being the start of a trilogy

Yeah. It was a quote on some article 3-4 years ago that a trilogy is the desire for it.

Good lord, has it been that long?

…What am I doing with my life?

I can see io doing content for hitman for a while tbh they’d be stupid to stop now the player base is massive and it’s becoming a lot more mainstream with these celeb targets.

I’m under the impression it will be a trilogy. First light, keyword First. Also, you don’t see 007 in the classic tuxedo; you see him as a young lad going to an academy. This sets up a trilogy. Now, I don’t know if they would do let say 3 straight years of 007 without a new hitman game.

They want us to still play Hitman. This is obvious, they keep adding content, and on 11/25 IOI president said a Hitman 4 game is coming. He didn’t expand on when, but they don’t want us to not to play Hitman. So the best way to keep us doing that, along with 007, is a new game.

Of all the titles to call this new celebrity, they used Patient Zero in the title, which tells me more content is coming, and expanding

Except I don’t envisage the next game will be themed ‘Hitman 4’ given that arc of 47’s story concluded in Hitman III. The next game will highly likely continue the story with a time jump and I’m hoping the next game is titled in a similar manner to Hitman: Blood Money or Hitman: Absolution for example :slightly_smiling_face:

Or you know “Hitman: Contracts 2” (-;

Hitman: First Blood: Remake of Codename 47 + Contracts in one game. With right order of missions and maybe some new.

Make it happen, IO! If not for our sake, then for @MrOchoa’s!

But then rather than re-order the missions they just rewrite the letters so that it appears like the order was correct all along.

I don’t think so, so far Hitman 4 is the only title being used right now. So I think there will be WOA connection.

It’s being used by simplistic media. Hakan said Of course there will be more Hitman…”, I don’t think he once said ‘Hitman 4’.

Anyway, I dunno how we got here from Milla Jovovich lel

Hurry up February, and hurry up IO scrapping the awful ET format for this stuff

Personally, I’ll be annoyed if it’s actually called Hitman 4 given that Hitman (2016) wasn’t actually Hitman 1 anyway. Shouldn’t it be called Hitman IX instead?

My guess is it will be called Hitman again, but with a different subtitle. Whether it is a full reboot or a soft-reboot sequel that continues the overall story of the series, I don’t really care. As long as I get to play as Agent 47, and Diana is still his handler, I’m all for it.

The best thing they can do if they don’t want to fully reboot it, or keep progressing the series timeline further and further into the future, is to make a game that takes place during the 7-year period after Blood Money, or the 7-year period after Absolution.

The story will continue in terms of canon, however, Hitman III is the conclusion of the WOA story arc, and that’s even been confirmed by IOI at various points.

If Freelancer is the bridge to the next arc of Hitman (even though there really isn’t any plot to be had other than establishing ‘ICA2’), then I can see them folding in whatever the new Co-op mode has for plot. Like, Diana recruiting more Agents.

Though I would rather all that be told in its own game. But we all know that’s frustratingly far off.

This is precisely what I have in mind when I say, as I have since Freelancer’s announcement, that the only real story addition Freelancer has to provide is that 47 and Diana are building up their funds from that work to relaunch the ICA under their own administration to be explicitly an assassination service that deals exclusively in taking contracts on people who abuse their power to avoid consequences, whether that be just corruption or actual criminals. 47 and Diana clearly don’t want organizations like Providence to ever rise again, but they can’t do the job on their own forever, so they would need to start their own organization to do it, and Freelancer’s money build-up and new connections Diana is forging during that time to have things delivered to 47 and to contact clients can all be used to re-establish the ICA, now an urban legend because everyone thinks it’s already gone, to be used as a for-profit peace-keeping/extra-judicial agency.

I prefer whatever the new agency is to not be named the ICA. It’s been ‘killed’ 3 times now and should just stay dead imo.
