I’ll take that into account for next time. Hopefully, I won’t be racing to get one done a few hours before I have to get up for work!
That’s why some edit features would go a long way. I know these will sound like excuses but I’ve spent most of the last week fighting with Microsoft about whether or not my Xbox account exists, finally (hopefully) resolved it after a day long struggle right before the deadline, then scrambled to implement my idea right before I went to bed around 2 in the morning before I had to work at 5am because time zones are not my strong suit only for there to be a few typos.
Now, I’m not saying I need the typos to be fixed (though that would be relatively simple); it would actually be just my luck that my first featured contract would have typos. I also don’t think the devs are required to fix anything (especially missed objectives). And I’m ok if it ends up being “Duy” instead of “Duty” because I don’t expect it to get picked anyway.
However, making contracts takes long enough as it is; having to redo everything because I spelled three words wrong seems ridiculous. Even having to remake everything because you didn’t do one or two objectives you wanted (which I’ve also experienced) is also a bit much. Nobody is saying IO is required to adjust any contract after submission but the mode is time consuming enough and final enough that it is certainly not arrogant to ask, particularly while there is currently no in game edit feature of any kind.
Also, @RedSneakyFox, the submissions closed a few hours ago. They still might accept it; they have been known to do that, provided it’s close enough to the deadline on the same day but you’d have to take that up with @Clemens_IOI
Yeah. I know. Will study the Contract Creation Guide that @Urben created and left a link for me to read. After having a quick read, it’s a solid guide that I actually have to bookmark it.
Yeah. Now I see why people don’t like The Night The Duck Cried as much. Too many complications and the god damn Required Exit. At least I was being a bit light on the complications in my submissions in both the Heat Stroke and Hot Scope. Still, silly but serious issues can pop up. I am human afterall.
I feel you there, especially if the creation is rather complicated. As I said, my contract tool can help at that, though the setup might be a bit trickier for console.
I have to update the first post for these functionalities but if you are willing to test it and have questions, just ask me.
Not only the complications and the exit, the whole contract was the peak of not interesting, the kill methods and the targets weren’t engaging, the required disguise was meh and spending most of your time in a contract just running from one target to the other is very unfun, and it’s quite tricky to get long runnings to be fun, so in general, most “experienced” creators don’t try to mess with it on a usual basis.
And don’t try to be thoughtful with the complications, lots of contracts get ruined by annoying complications, in my personal opinion, complications are not supposed to make a contract more punishing, but only to contribute it. Think about it.
Okay, okay my fault. i see. didn’t check the time twice
but also there would be no problem, if the note [CLOSED] appeared as many times before
I will remove this right away… @Krikkit2021 let’s keep this fair. Closed mean closed. This is not the last submission ever…
You can leave it though, for people to play it or if those responsible will have mercy, they can still count your submission.
I just wrote to let you know
I have a theory that the folk at IOI like to pick one “troll” contract per batch. Your contract was good when it came to strategizing the kills and getting to the targets, but the faraway exit was a troll move.
I personally think it’s hilarious and am fine with it. Oh no, this game that I spend hours on has an exit I have to run a minute to? Oh deary me!
I think it’s doubly hilarious because all the speedrunners (and I like to challenge myself and get in the top 100 or higher if possible) are all whining about it, while it’s like yeah, it’s your job to figure out how to get there fastest, and if everyone has to deal with it, then Be Best ™.
It’s a troll move and I’m all for it and clearly so were IOI. Look at Heat Rises from the recent crop— total troll contract, and no disrespect.
Yeah. Thanks. If contracts mode ever have like a system where you can add tags to contracts, I would probably pick Troll. I think IO Interactive should include that. That would make contract searching a tad interesting.
I know the answer but Featured Contracts Submissions are a monthly thing? I’m always late to the party It will be a good way to try things. I’ll say it here, this community is the best.
It is especially in the end, with the title and briefing as seen. I deleted a few contracts because of a mistyping. I started to read your guide and it reminds how deep this game with a simple idea that is to create your own contracts. Customizing is a very video game thing but here it becomes a noble art. So thank you.
Yes, but no, in H2 there was a single batch of 10 contracts every match, now in H3 there are 2 batches per month so submissions happen twice per month. Submissions usually start 9 days prior to the release of the batch and last for 7 days, so just count on that in order not to miss.
