Just a reminder this is the CTT Feedback thread, for those of us still playing the CTT
Would help me to know if I’ve been wasting a month of my life porting bonus missions into Freelancer if they’re just gonna do it themselves tho

Why feedback?
I’m guessing at least one of the RtF posts that never happened would’ve been intended to have been the learnings from the CTT - what worked well/was well received by the players (as well as what wasn’t), what the overall feedback was, what changes are they making based on the data/feedback they got etc. Would’ve been quite an interesting read.
During the CTT, did anyone try to change the settings so that the contract objectives did not appear in the corner of the screen, and was anyone who did try successful?
Although true,
…this.
You’re only looking through one sides’ perspective (the consumer). You (generally speaking) have no idea what’s going on with why they have not said anything. No industry chooses to have bad consumer relations.
Indeed, there are many things to gripe about, but the newsletter is not it.
For example, there’s the fact that H3 was initially an EGS exclusive. Then it came to Steam and having to launch it through EGS is now a thorn in my side. They could, if they wish, issue an activation through Steam’s API to everyone who has purchased it on Epic. But there is no economic or PR incentive to do so.
As is being demonstrated with the Stadia debacle, they absolutely do have the means and will to allow you to move your progression between platforms, though this should hardly be surprising since all the data resides on their servers. Currently, you cannot even move progression even if you’re generous enough to purchase the game a second time on Steam.
Pick your battles; there are far more worthwhile issues to bring attention to than some PR fluff that ultimately, won’t translate into game content. Freelancer will (or will not) arrive irrespective of some mailshot.
I choose to believe that neither of the Road To Freelancer blog posts happened because someone at IOI is trying to find precisely the right words to thank us for pointing out what an existential horror the “GOAT” challenge previewed in the CTT is, and to promise us that they’ll never really implement those kinda numbers because they’re not actually more evil than an IRL Providence.
Not relevant, and not true. It doesn’t matter why they haven’t said anything; after making a commitment, they need to say something as to why what they said would happen did not happen. And yes, the choice is made to have bad consumer relations all the time; companies just either don’t believe it actually constitutes that, or don’t care.
Once again, the fact that it’s a mere news letter is not the point. It doesn’t matter if it was a newsletter, a vault filled with gold, or a coupon for a free Kids Cone from Dairy Queen. It’s not about what they told us they were going to give, it is that they told us they would do something, haven’t done it twice, and in the space of a month haven’t said a thing about it.
Yes, you made your sentiment obvious already. The point is that you aren’t seeing the wood for the trees.
There are many meaningful things to gripe about, yet this inconsequential matter is the hill you choose to plant your flag on.
And you have made that point repeatedly as well. And yes, I see the woods and the trees. News flash; when one tree has a blight, it threatens the entire woods.
You don’t care about the newsletter, is all you’re saying, when it comes down to it. That’s fine. Some were looking forward to hearing more before we get to the big show. I for one don’t care either way, but I do not like the trend, again, of IOI telling us one thing and then changing the plan without informing us until much later down the road. Are there more important things to focus on? Sure. Are any of them happening right now, or has IOI not followed through on them without telling us? No, and thats what you need to understand. Right here, right now, it is this that is the issue where their behavior is troubling. That is a behavior that needs to be clamped down on and expunged right now, before they make it a practice. It is about the principle.
I mean, of course people on here are seeing things from the customers’ perspective, because, well, they’re customers. Just pointing out and discussing that they’re disappointed that two promised RtF updates weren’t posted is not “picking a battle”, it’s discussing something Freelancer related in the Freelancer category of a forum.
Gonna be honest, I rolled my eyes at the mentioning of Epic exclusivity yet again, because that’s surely a battle that’s worth picking – constantly, everywhere, in almost every conversation, for almost two years now, one year after Epic exclusivity has ended.
We’re talking about a video game. I bet almost everything in our lives would be more meaningful to talk or worry about. That doesn’t mean that we can’t talk about inconsequential things in a forum about one fun inconsequential thing.
I’m not happy about the two missing newsletters either, because I was really looking forward to them. I won’t lose sleep over it, as I won’t lose sleep over anything Hitman related apart from 47’s gorgeous abs, but it’s something I like to read other people’s opinions on while I’m here.
So if ioi is being held up at gunpoint, still doesn’t matter?
Sheesh.
They’ve been held up at gunpoint for a month? Sheesh.
Yes, they are being held hostage as we speak. Demands are,
Don’t release newsletter.
And nothing has happened and nobody has done shit since the last week of November? And every member of IOI just happened to be there, so nobody could call the authorities, resolve the matter, and let their fans know that they are ok and are not in a position to release the newsletter as stated? All of that has been in place for one month? EU had no hostage negotiations practices in place, then?
Correct. Finally you’re understanding.
Understanding that such a ludicrous excuse won’t fly with me!
Unfortunately, like myself, your opinion to the company is irrelevant. We are just pawns. They have their reasons.
If our opinions didn’t matter, we’d still have two items that they saw fit to edit or edit out. They know full well that they’ve messed up and their gonna try to schmooze it over, as they always do.
So might as well wait. Or you can go to their headquarters and save them from the hostage situation if you can’t wait.
