This isn’t a bug or something like that, so I’m just going to make a topic thread for it. As many of you on here can attest (as can I), IOI’s technical support is less than helpful, which is why I’m posting here rather than messaging them. In recent weeks, however, I’ve been pleased and impressed with @IOI_Artjoms ‘s interactions with this community. So I’m hopeful this issue will at least get an acknowledgement (if not a fix).
The issue in question is on the Player Profile page under the Career tab in Hitman WOA. All of these pages have an image of 47 posing, and the PP page is no different. However, the image used makes the content on the page difficult to read (especially for someone such as me, whose eyes aren’t great).
The “Performance” column, particularly the numbers overlaying 47’s cuff and hand, are nearly impossible to read, even on a large screen. It’s a small thing, admittedly, but it continues to be an issue for me. Perhaps the image of 47 could be moved a little to the right? Or maybe resized or replaced with a different image altogether?
That’s a great shame. I wonder why they introduced this thing at all if it doesn’t perform its function.
Hope this could be pushed by @IOI_Artjoms for a change in a better way
Totally agree. Not a big issue, but I always noted that this section you’re talking about is hard readable because of the background image
I was unfortunately out with a cold last week (thank you minus degrees), but I will take this feedback to my weekly with the production team. Thank you for the thread, the detailed breakdown and lastly flagging this.
To offer a suggestion here, Heritage UI just changes the background image to the generic one used in the menu’s, which might be a good reference point for ideas on how to fix this.
Another suggestion is either editing the image and moving 47 to the right, or darkening the bit where 47’s hand is.
As someone with poor eyesight myself, I often struggle with text visibility.
HITMAN WoA has always had some issues with text readability and visibility.
I previously reported this in the bug report thread, but I think the text on the map is a prime example—especially where the same color is used for identical types, making the text hard to distinguish.
I hope you’ll address these UI-related issues.
A good way to solve all of this is to use drop-shadows on HUD text, which is pretty much what every other games does to distinguish the UI text from the gameplay in motion, and Hitman 2016 originally did this for its HUD, but Hitman WOA no longer does so.
An easy fix to keep both 47’s picture and a readable text would be to cut down on all that empty space in the columns. There’s no need for the Challenges and Performance columns to be so far apart in the first place, and it’s still possible to cut a bit of space between the other colums as well.
