I was playing Freelancer and force quit the game during heavy fire in a Showdown, when I tried to restart I would immediately be disconnected from server, but other game modes work fine. I even reinstalled the game (Steam) and it still doesn’t work. I even disabled Steam save ability, and nothing. I did contact support but their first suggestion didn’t work, and I haven’t heard a follow up yet. I’ve been playing Freelancer for over a year, and have force quit many times and never had this issue. Has anyone else had a similar issue?

I’m using a few mods which prevent me to connect to Freelancer, but the workaraound for this kind of issue is to launch a game and go to Freelancer straightaway.
If I go to other tab and coming back, Freelancer won’t work for me.
Maybe your issue has same mechanics.
Just quit the game if you were playing contract or navigating through menu, launch it again and go to Freelancer straightaway. Should work.
Also I can suggest standard ways like clearing shader cache and so on, but I doubt they will help in this case.
You may try trough.
Just open this folder on your PC and delete all folders which are there (normally just HITMAN 3 or/and HITMAN 2016 and HITMAN 2)
C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\IO Interactive\
Note that AppData is hidden folder. If you navigating there manually you will need to unhide it in folder settings
