Puzzles which have aged well

I was thinking specifically about the WOA here, and examples probably exist from earlier games, but who else finds that certain in-game puzzles remain perpetually fresh and fun to play? Finding the Maelstrom, for instance, is complicated enough that it remains a slight challenge on every playthrough. The same can be said for collecting the Ark tokens. In contrast, finding the Bare-Knuckle Boxer recipe is so easy that you take it for granted after a relatively short time!

Please keep it civil. I don’t want this to descend into a complaints thread.

That was the goal for the Lust Deadly Sin escalation and I think it was done very well. I assume we’ll get a very similar mechanic when Freelancer is released.

I think the most obvious example for something that didn’t age well is the intel collection in Whittleton Creek. Most players find it tedious now.

On the other side though, I agree that the Maelstrom is still good.
