The fact they’re willing to entertain the idea of re-runs in the future sort-of suggests this isn’t to do with licensing, which, looking back at deals other companies made in the past, is much more all-encompassing. And I don’t think the estate would care about having a limited time DLC, they more care about image rights and how they are used. The DLC is all on IO, which pressures players into a state of FOMO to buy it.
Because FOMO guarantee’s sales for a short period of time, especially on a celebrity contract. And they have been pushing this DLC hard.
The safe was notoriously confusing; It required knowing Leet Speak, English, and making the connection that the boat and safe were related, which, to be frank, did not happen.
That safe is also breaching charge-proof for some reason. Redesigning the puzzle would have been a good time to remove that arbitrary restriction as well :x

I don’t really think much has changed, I shot some people from the water tower and they rushed and compromised me just like before.
I also want to mention that the stock market now costs 500 merces, since the last patch. (hopefully it hasn’t been mentioned before)
And there are new intel things that automatically popup - one for the Lee being poisoned (also now with the objective saying how many rounds there are until he fights) and one for scanning the boat clue.

I must say, I really like the Sangfroid suit. Bold, elegant, and impossible to ignore. The kind you would wear for an appropriate event. ![]()
It’s good to see again suits that are still at their core Hitman in their aesthetics, in addition to their welcomed eccentricities. Pastel Suit did the same. ![]()
I especially appreciate the fabric texture they went for.
You can see the threads of it. A bit like the Tropical Suit. A rich texture.
I approve of it going in the classics category.
But then, the Pastel Suit should go to the casual category.
(and the Trendy Tourist Suit into tactical)

Elusive Device
We fixed an issue where NPCs were able to notice and pick up the Remote Micro Audio Distraction Device when activated, despite supposedly being imperceptible.
As an habitual user of it, it’s very good to see.
Never minded it. But it’s even better now!
It reminds me of the often forgotten Wristwatch in Hitman 2 (Hawk Bay and New York), and the Portable Radio in Hitman 2016 (Paris, Sapienza, Bangkok)

If you don’t move from the sniping spot you’ll be instantly noticed anyway, I don’t think the fix was meant for that. More like, shooting a guard from afar to make him move from his position then running towards him should allow you to pass unnoticed (it was already possible before, but now and then guards would still turn orange, the fix was probably meant for that kind of situation).
Well as long as you move away from the sniping spot and don’t carry any weapon you’re not allowed to, guards won’t understand anything. You could run around with the sniper as a biker in Berlin and those idiots wouldn’t identify you because mechanically they’re actually looking for a person, not a weapon.
(You could also just change into a different disguise to remain in the area you shot from and be unnoticed, that trick is used in HC Freelancer speedruns all the time.)
The ETA arcade change is great, although they should just remove the timer altogether.
The fixes and updates to the ET are also good. They also included fixes for the other missions and freelancer too, which is appreciated. They should keep doing two patches per season from now on.
A bug that wasn’t addresed in patch notes was the one where Wu wouldn’t die after breaking his neck as the prisioner. Can anyone confirm if this has been fixed?

Technically you don’t need a custom contract. You can complete it in “The Baskerville Barney” if you want to drag the Carlisles half way across the map.

That’s not what it was fixing. It was fixing body shots compromising you (and other things).
Also not true, it doesn’t cost 500 Merces, it requires it. That’s because it’s the smallest amount you can lose in one go - but it doesn’t take 500 from you and then give you the win/lose amount - only the latter.

IOI, I know this is something you lost the ability to do since you had that company-wide stroke that started about the time you got that second studio and started thinking you’re a bigger player in the industry than you are, but do please, take notes!
I think these Intel additions are heavy course-corrections, but they are necessary simply because this mission is in the stressful, one-shot-only format of an Elusive Target. In the Regular Game^TM, these would be overkill.
This observation ultimately makes me circle back to the argument that these missions should be Special Assignments and not ETs.
Giving people heads-up on an update a day before is not unreasonable I feel.
I’m glad they did tell us a week beforehand, but that was always seen as a vague timeframe, and not definitive.
This intel doesn’t feel out of place at all in the regular game. If anything “Foul Play” reads like a mission story, and “A Safe Course” is fairly similar to the alien easter egg in Berlin.
One of the main issues players had with the ET was that it was weirdly unhelpful in some places. This goes some ways into (hopefully) fixing that.
I agree, this mission was clearly not designed for the ET format, and should’ve been side mission of some sort, evidenced by the fact they had to retool it a bit for this mid-patch, and i’m not even sure these changes will help that much. Maybe it’ll make it easier to grasp, particularly in ETA? Too early to tell right now.
