Seven Deadly Sins Act 1: Greed

At this point i could’ve bought the uncharted remake trilogy and uncharted 4 for the same price, physical copies even.

Well yes, because it’s seven small DLC packs - as above, if you buy seven of anything with a small price it will usually go up into a mid-price. That’s how bundles work.

But the difference is the proposal you’re putting forward would mean that they’d have to charge that for each of those DLC and that’d put the bundle price into the weird “special edition” packs where you get $50 of merchandise include a mid-quality collectible bust and a tin box (but no game).

You can, in fact, buy a lot of things for the price of the bundle: other games, meals, cocktails, this t-shirt.

Stating a random item contributes nothing to the conversation. Imagine if every thread was filled with people randomly announcing other games you could buy for the cost of Hitman 3.

You can’t compare new release content to old stuff like that. I’ve gotten amazing AAA games in Steam and GOG sales for $5, that doesn’t mean the new Assassin’s Creed should cost $5.

If you must compare it, compare to the Hitman 2 expansion pass, but even then it’s better to take things as they come IMO. Value depends on the person, what kind of content they prefer, how much $30 matters to them and a host of other things.

After the announcement of Square dropping IOI, I believed that Hitman as we were getting it was just done. It was going to be given to someone else and be made as something else.

The fact IOI was able to buy Hitman back and finish this undertaking of a trilogy was a surprise that I’m grateful for. Was it the perfect or cleanest way it could have been handled? Unfortunate layoffs and distribution troubles say no. But with Project 007 on the horizon and their Malmo based studio, things seem to be looking up.

That all said, I have the extra income to throw at a DLC pack like this. I even grabbed Hitman 2 Gold before we knew what we were getting there too. I was just happy there was more Hitman from IOI at all.

Them offering this pack in cheaper pieces shows to me that they’re fine with letting people buy whatever parts they like of this pack if they can’t afford all of it, or would rather wait and see. I think arguing over value propositions is pretty subjective anyway. Especially when we really don’t know the full offering for this DLC.

So, I finished this one and it actually surprised me positively from what I was expecting.

The cons are that the replayability is mostly restricted to going back for the 60 coin exit and it’s certainly a contract that could almost be recreated by players, without the additions.
The pros are that this was actually fun, challenging and the greedy coins mechanic worked well.

From looking at the evolution curve from the simpler Asmodeuz Waltz to the much greater Satu Mare Delirium in the deluxe pack, I’m actually optimistic about this DLC in the future.

Yep, this is how I feel. Satu Mare and some of the other recent ones make me optimistic about future escalations feeling like more substantial content. We shall see.

I thought they released Tuesdays

Actually only just realised: What are those coins for? I played the three parts, collected all the coins but never really got why. Just to have them? Or is there a bonus? Another unlockable maybe?

exiting with 60 coins (the max) unlocks a number of challenges with mastery xp but you can also trade them with the frog to get items thatll make the kill conditions easier. like a silenced pistol

Nice! Have to check again if I had 60 coins or if I’m missing some challenges.

What is the whole purpose of getting all 60 coins at the end? There is no coin shop to permanently unlock gadgets or suits.

The satisfaction of completing a challenge.

I finally caved in and bought the DLC :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Full Sins pass or just Greed? And what convinced you in the end?

The whole collection, it always looked to be fun content but I put it off because of the price. Today I finally bit the bullet

You won’t get me yet, stupid sexy Flanders…

I think I’ll wait until Act 3 is out, see what interesting twists to an escalation they come up with for there. I still don’t feel convinced (or ready) to drop 40 of my diddly-dollarinos on this yet. D’oh!

(And yes, I’m gonna buy the bundle. I think it’s unlikely IO is going to allow the collection to go on sale until they’re all out, so might as well save money where I can.)

Alright, I’m playing the Greed escalation, and is there any confirmation as to who voices the Frog and the whispers in this?

I think it’s a voice-modulated Jane Perry. It seems to shift between using soft “R"s and hard” R"s. And the hard Rs sound a lot like how Jane Perry’s Canadian voice says them.
