Suggesting changes to how Hitman Woa is sold

1 - Hitman Woa Free Demo should permanently include the Paris mission as well. I think giving players 2 tutorial missions and 1 proper mission would serve as a perfect way to attract newcomers to the game.

2 - Hitman Woa should be renamed to Hitman Woa Standard Edition, since I’ve seen many players not understand this is the base edition (Not sure why)

It should include New York and Haven Island missions alongside all the other content included in Hitman 3 Access Pass: Hitman 2 Expansion dlc. This would also mean this dlc would no longer be for sale.

3 - Hitman Woa Deluxe Edition should be renamed to Hitman Woa Gold Edition, to avoid confusion with the Deluxe Pack that’s part of this games dlc. As Hitman 3 Access Pass: Hitman 2 Expansion would no longer be sold in this edition, all of the remaining non-celebrity dlc would be added as part of the Gold Edition.

That means Hitman 3 - Deluxe Pack, 7 Deadly Sins, Makeshift Pack, Street Art Pack, Trinity Pack and Sarajevo 6 would be added as part of this edition. Hitman Woa Deluxe Pack (Not to be confused with Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack) would be removed from sale. If someone has Standard Edition, they should be able to buy a Gold Edition Upgrade to get the dlcs included in this edition.

4 - Hitman Woa Part 1 should change its base price to 20 dollars.

5 - Hitman Woa Part 2 should be added as well, including the base game, dlc missions and the rest of Hitman 3 Access Pass: Hitman 2 dlc content. It should cost 25 dollars.

6 - Hitman Woa Part 3 including the original 6 missions, Ambrose Island, Freelancer and vr access would be sold for 25 dollars.

Having the ability to buy the game in 3 parts would be great for players who want to try out the game, but are not sure if they want to commit to paying the full price of the game right away.

What player is going to buy Part One, wants to buy Part Two but is still going to be on the fence about wanting to buy Part Three and needs convincing with Part Two?

I imagine most players that at least like Woa Part 1 will want to play the rest of the game. That said, rare outliers where someone likes Woa part 1, but not Woa part 2 can happen.

However, my primary reason for giving an option to buy the game in 3 parts is because of people who aren’t willing/able to spend 70 dollars all at once (And Woa’s base price is still that much) but could see themselves buying parts of the game over time.

It accomplishes what Ioi wanted to do with Sapienza edition, but in a more reasonable manner.

Personally, I think having too many editions is, and always has been a problem with how IO sells this game. I think the best solution would be to just have a standard and deluxe editions (with the ability to buy the deluxe upgrade individually) as you sugested, but not selling the game in parts. Including Paris as part of the free demo would satisfy the need for a cheaper entry point and would make Part 1, 2 and 3 redundant.

Even if the game might be expensive for some people, having just the two editions is a better solution than having a lot of them and confusing people on what they’re supposed to buy, which is exactly what happened on H3’s release.

IMO, it should be:

  • HITMAN WOA Free Demo - This would be the existing version but with your suggestion:

  • HITMAN WOA Standard Edition: This would be the existing version.

  • HITMAN WOA Deluxe Edition: This would be the existing version.

Personally, I think they should avoid selling the game in “Parts”. The existing Part One already leads to confusion. I think having a standard and deluxe should be sufficient.

I did think about having a version that has EVERYTHING but considering how we are still getting new content and the limited time packs, I can’t really see a viable solution.

Ac Odyssey has 4 versions, but it also pretty clearly explains what each version offers on it’s store page. Imo, Ioi should do that as well, as a replacement to the current comparison chart.

I don’t think having 5 versions on sale is that confusing (Obviously I’m not counting Hitman Woa Free Demo as a version since with the somewhat recent name change it’s clear it’s just a demo)

Want the full game? Buy Standard Edition. Want the full game + all the non-celebrity dlc? Buy the Gold Edition. Want to try out the game but aren’t sure you want to spend the money on the full game, or you don’t have the money to buy it full price right away? Buy Part 1, and later on buy Part 2 and Part 3 to get the full game.

You bought the Standard Edition or all 3 parts and now you want all non-celebrity dlc bundled? Buy the Gold Edition Upgrade.

I personally wouldn’t mind if they removed Part 1, but if they want to keep selling it, then I think having Part 2 and Part 3 selling alongside it is needed.

I’m not against adding Paris to the demo, but I’d rather they rotate locations in and out.

The game itself should be called Hitman: WOA. The actual game name is not the issue, it’s the editions being put up for purchase.

I think standard should include all the story missions from 2. As much as I dislike Haven’s ending, both are still narratively important. I’m sure iOS already does this. The deluxe edition can have the rest of the gold edition content, because sniper maps are extra side missions, and have always been treated like that.

The deluxe pack should be retired, because the WOA Deluxe pack supersedes it. No need to rename stuff like that.

Hitman Woa Part 1 should change its base price to 20 dollars.

No. Just…get rid of it. I know the reason it exists (less wealthy nations have a way to play the game), but it’s not actually helpful for the end-customer having this as an edition, and has caused no amount of confusion. Ditto for the part 2 and 3 suggestions.

Having the ability to buy the game in 3 parts would be great for players who want to try out the game, but are not sure if they want to commit to paying the full price of the game right away.

You’re just adding more editions to a system that was meant to get rid of stuff like that and whittle things down to be more manageable. We need less editions and more grouping up, not more options or “foot in the door” entrances for new players.

A simple purchasing experience is the best purchasing experience. No need to overcomplicate it.

They could permanently add Paris, while still rotating other locations in and out.

The game would still be called Hitman Woa. This change of adding Standard Edition at the end would only be done to the editions part of the store page.

There is no Gold Edition currently, that’s just one of my proposed changes, to change the name of Deluxe Edition to Gold Edition, in order to avoid the confusion with there being a Deluxe Pack (Which is part of the Deluxe Edition right now)

I think it’s better to just add the sniper maps and the side missions from this dlc to the base game. Otherwise, Hitman 3 Access Pass: Hitman 2 Expansion dlc would remain for sale, now with less content. Much more smoother to just incorporate the full dlc into the Standard Edition.

Woa Deluxe Pack doesn’t supersede Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack. It’s a bundle of dlcs containing Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack, 7 Deadly Sins and Hitman 3 Access Pass: Hitman 2 Expansion. It would be removed because otherwise it would create confusion with my proposed changes.

My stance concerning Part 1 is ether they remove it, or expand on it with adding parts 2 and 3. That would be 5 versions in total, and with a proper description on the store page, it would be easy enough to understand what one wants to buy. My reply to Guillermo_Murillo should explain my reasoning for everything else not covered in this answer.

They need to add some of the DLCs to a new Gold/Deluxe edition. Is anybody really buying Seven Deadly Sins or Sarajevo Six individually these days?

7DS is part of WoA deluxe tho?
