Well there already were a couple of paid cosmetic packs sold a few months earlier, and there also was one as early as H1 so itâs not like itâs a first for IOI. Besides Iâd rather be able to pay for the trinity pack than not having it at all :x
I know. I remember the Requiem pack. Iâve bought cosmetics for this game. I agree with you that Iâd rather have the Trinity pack than not (I paid extra for it as a preorder bonus after all).
And yet ⌠paid cosmetics are icky, and the practice should not be encouraged or normalized. It needs be said.
[Edit: Yes, I dislike this practice and have also supported it with my cash. I did say I was a hypocrite.]
Thereâs a new challenges with unlocks planned across the rest of the year, so Iâm sure Freelancer will get some more unlocks at some point this year!
I would have never thought to see the Sarajevo Six return. I wonder what happend behind the scenes to make that possible. I canât wait to finally being able to play them myself !
Sadly, like I guess alot in here, already spoilt myself on YouTube back in the days of Hitman 2016, thinking itâd ânever release on PC anywayâ ⌠!
Extremely likely given at the time H1 was going to be the launcher used for all three seasons before plans got derailed. Wouldnât be surprised if IO just broke the contract, paid a penalty and the $5 is them just recouping the costs.
Itâs all recycled content and the asking price for whatâs basically six below-average ETs is pretty steep.
On the other hand, Iâm glad that those that didnât get to play Sarajevo Six finally have a chance to. Plus, itâs one more step in the right direction of finally having all Hitman content available permanently, two if you count the Trinity Pack.
Have zero interest in playing the S6 again (I played them on the 2016 version a year ago, and theyâre pretty boring and bare bones - they basically have no additional dialogue. Really lazy.)
All right, the only question now is: electrocution phone when?
(Kinda bummed, that anyone who got it on PS4 canât reedem it free of charge, but such is the life. Iâm very happy about it, now they just have to make it to appear online)
Itâs interesting that they made it even harder to obtain the electrocution phone back in January since itâs impossible to buy 2âs DLC directly off the digital stores anymore. If any new players want a chance to use the phone, they need to buy either an unused Expansion Pass Steam code or a physical copy of Hitman 2 Gold Edition with an unused code.
Since itâs most effective against Elusive Targets, Iâd be fine with them bringing the phone back after theyâre done having active ETs (this December will likely be the last of them).
Iâm torn on the whole ânerfing itâ. They could âover nerfâ or âover correctâ it like they did the Molotov Cocktail and completely make it useless, which would defeat the purpose of ever bringing it back in the first place.
In my opinion, all they had to do was get rid of the âwall bangâ on the Molotov, and MAYBE get rid of the âblowing it up with a Tranq gunâ and it would have been âbalancedâ in my opinion⌠which brings up another question of âwhy care about balance in a completely single player game?â I could MAYBE understand nerfing it or removing it if there was still Ghost Mode, but there isnât.
I do hope they at least bring back the Electrocution Phone in Freelancer. Just make it an expensive Gear item that youâll have to buy again if you use.
One way to nerf it would be to make it so the Electrocution Phone needs to be placed in a water puddle to kill a Target, otherwise it will just knock out or stun the Target.
This nerf would also be a good excuse to add the Water Canister into the main game as an unlockable item. Youâd essentially need to use up both equipment slots just to effectively use the Electrocution Phone (exept on very specific sections of Chongqing, like The Rage Elusive Target, or certain Contracts). Iâm still against the idea of a nerf, but if IOI is the one who cares about game balance in a single player game, then maybe thatâs an idea they can use just to bring the item back.
What would be great is making those ETs permanent, then awarding the electric phone to players who manage to get SA on all of them. That way thereâs not really any temptation to use it on them and no nerfâs required.
(As for adding it to Freelancer, honestly any duck will do the same job unless you have an SA prestige objective to do, so itâs not like itâs particularly overpowered there and needs to cost 7 billion merces.)
The Molotov would be better in Freelancer than the main game because the vast majority of the time you do not have to worry about Silent Assassin. Not sure why IOI didnât just make it one of the gear items to begin with.
