Truly the most difficult (mini)boss.
you can dodge the first part to get hits in, but deflect/parry the next attack and mikiri (i think? it’s been a while) the final move. iirc, he does it a lot at midrange, so it’s a good move to bait out.
i think so. it feels great. there’s at the very least one better one, though i haven’t beaten it yet ![]()
Which boss (pop it in spoilers)?
that would be sword saint isshin.
They’re pretty similar fights, and I love both, but for me Inner Genichiro is just more satisfying, with Inner Isshin being a close second. The normal versions are great, but the Inner ones just bring more moveset goodness for me.
i’ve yet to get to them. i took a (second) break from sekiro a while ago and haven’t got back to it because i’m fickle as fuck.
they’re the ‘dlc’/boss rush ones, right?
Yeah, those guys. I took a 2 month break after getting stuck on normal Genichiro for like 3 hours on my first playthrough, took me a while to get back to it so I’m with ya on that front. Sometimes giving that muscle memory some time to sink in helps, whether it’s deliberate or not.
To be honest, I’m terrible with getting back to things, or even playing new games. I’ve probably got at least 5 games I own but haven’t played, and at least 10 I haven’t finished and probably won’t. I just end up playing Hitman or chilling in a From game every time I boot up my PS.
you’re clearly a person of culture.
HOLY FUCKING SHIT HOLY FUCKING SHIT
Today in between my endless working on final projects i squeezed in two short sekiro game-breaks of an hour. And within these 2 hours I’ve achieved more than I did a few days ago with a 4 hour session on the game. TO RECAP
I got the mist-raven in Hirata, Did most of senpou temple including beating armored warrior on my first try! Re-explored parts of ashina castle finding the kusabimaru. Went back to hirata and beat Juzou ON MY FIRST TRY THIS TIME, i lured him out to the other guy and we double teamed his ass so hard. then i went on to beat lady butterfly in two attempts! TWO ! i never thought id get good at this game.
and then heres the real kicker, i beat genichiro, a boss thats been absolutely giving me shit for the last couple times i played, in two attempts. I think sekiro finally clicked and what a feeling it is to have it click.
Now its back to senpou temple and to the sunken valley and gun fort, wish me luck!
Awesome, Congratulations - you see this makes the game so exiciting (Game of the Year 2019).
The final deathblow sound of an annoying boss is so satisfying like the ‘krrrrr’ sound in atm machine while withdrawing cash ![]()
The game has just started, there is more to it.
Good idea to take breaks !!
That’s great! Now the true satisfaction can begin…
There’s still a lot of stuff to get through, and shit gets really wild later on, so brace yourself!
The Chicken in Sekiro can fight with a Shinobi.
The Chickens are also very difficult to handle - the only enemy which I avoid in a standoff.
Cursed by the chickens whom I consumed in Biryani and KFC ![]()
FYI - @TheChicken
I did it, i beat him.
After 12 morbillion attempts.
I also beat snake eyes shirahagi which was a uniquely difficult fight but it only took 4 tries. also beat a shichimen warrior, fun fight, felt very non sekiro is a fun way.
Ha ha ha… I still dont know what happened on my
1 minute fight with Mist Raven ![]()
Ah so you got the fog away - keep exploring
and keep posting your experience here ![]()

Ok a few things
I killed the great serpent, i dont know if that has repercussions later but i wanted the fucker dead and he is now dead. Furthermore i killed a second snake eyes and long-arm centipede giraffe in gunfort and got the divine abduction shinobi prosthethic. Iam also planning to kill the two optional bosses in hidden forest, Tokuriji the glutton and headless before moving on from that place. With that being said I’ve got some questions about quests. So far I’ve found 4
Tengu of Ashina
Blackhat Badger
Surgeon dojaun
& Kotaru
my questions for these quests are:
1.
What do i do with kotaru, he wants me to find the white pinwheel, ive already found it, should i just give it to him or should i give him the red and white pinwheel.
2.
Blackhat Badger, where the fuck does this funni little man go, he said he was headed to senpou temple but the cockwaddle is nowhere to be found, where is he.
3.
Surgeon Dojaun, where is his surgical wing of the abandoned dungeon, I accidentily sent the guy looking for a shashimen player to the dungeon for him but now the surgeon has gone of somewhere and i cannae find him no more, where is he.
And for tengu i dont really need help, hes straightforward
Awesome,
- Here there are three option you can take - a tough descision which will affect at the end (main storyline wont be affected):
- white : Kotato lives, a merchant dies (must have divine abduction)
- red and white (merchant): merchant lives, Kotaro dies
- red and white (surgeon): forgot this storyline
- Possible locations of him -
- Second floor of a house just below the Old Grave idol
- Senpou Temple - near the midget guarding the Kite.
- Near Sunken Valley Cavern Idol
- Final place - near the building, where you first found him (point 1) - you will feel sad

I forgot about Surgeon’ storyline - it also depends on Kotaro.
As per your video, it seems you got the mortal blade and did some kite flying. More annoying enemies are on the way - King Kong my favourite.
Tip: Be kind to old ladies, and donate rice - their blessings will give you clues.
For the surgeon, you can send either Kotaro or Jinzaemon (samurai man) to him. After visiting the surgeon enough when you have sent him a test subject, they’ll move into his little cave. You can’t go in there yet, you need to unlock a special ability first (I think you’ll know when you do). After getting that ability, you can continue that quest.
Since you sent Jinzaemon, you can’t send Kotaro to the surgeon. You can send him to Anayama, the first merchant in Ashina Outskirts (he also appears in Hirata but you can’t send Kotaro to him there). He will help Anayama loot corpses, but he doesn’t mind too much. If you want to do this, give him the Red and White pinwheel and tell him of Anayama. Make sure you’ve talked to Anayama until he asks you to find him someone to help.
Kotaro’s other option is to spirit him away. He seems happy after this, and less worried. For this, give him the White Pinwheel.
I won’t tell you what you get out of either of these options, I’d suggest picking based on how you feel about the characters.
zubin pretty much answered your Badger questions, so I’ll leave him out. And yeah, nothing much to say about the Tengu.
Also, how’s the playthrough going? Anything you particularly like or dislike about the game? My only problems with it were Mist Noble being too hard (
) and the last few trophies being too grindy (this was actually a little annoying, since I don’t have much time to play games in general).
I think i met that guy but stopped talking to him the moment he was asking money for clues, didnt seem like the most trusty guy, but ill be sure to look for him again and send kotaro his way. As im not to keen on sending the big oaf to the spirit realm.
It’s going surpringly well, i hit two walls early game nit those walls have been broken down. As for things i like about the game, the visuals, the combat, the bosses and minibosses and the story surpingly. Theres not much i dislike apart from me occasionally getting frustrated due to my own mistakes.
Aha, so thats what the rice was good for
Rice is also a souped-up version of pellets, giving you pretty solid health regen for a while.
Did the anayama and kotaru quest, sheesh anayama has got to be the best merchant in the game, unlimited scrap iron and other good upgrade materials for cheap, among other good items and a phantom kunai to upgrade the shuriken. really nice. Though he said he met me in hirata 3 years ago and i never found him on hirata, though ill have to go back there to buy a piece of the dragon mask from the pot guy
