I’m a bit torned about it.
The first game was great, and I know for a fact that it was used by some teachers to reach their students. And it was effective. So not seeing a pc release is a bit of a letdown for me.
(like you Rimland, I never play on my phone)
On the other hand, if reaching students is still one of their objective, then a mobile game is the best platform to have it on. Especially if it’s specifically designed for the platform (UX, and time of play session).
(The Netflix exclusivity is saying the opposite though. So the whole thing is a bit baffling)

Oh yeah, and last year Best Indie Game was used as a “Speedrun award” between ads/trailers. Really hope it’s part of the main event.
Feels like more and more caterories are being moved to the pre-show or used as a speedrun. Sad.

Almost like it is just an excuse to run ads for useless gamercentric bric-a-brac, trailers for games and pimp out falsified depictions of what it is like to work at a game studio.

Alas the GAME Awards were never supposed to be a show dedicated to the best gaming has to offer. The GAME Awards were nothing more than Geoff gussying up and dignifying the old Spike TV Gaming Awards because he wants money and attention. It has always been an ad reel disguised as a half-assed and consistently unsuccessful attempt at legitimising the gaming industry.

Sega realising that they are sitting on top of a bunch of fantastic IPs, and maybe they should actually utilise them. I adore the original Jet Set Radio, I really want to play Future at some point, and hope this new one can be just as great.
