The Hitman Forum Hitman Map

Hi! @BlossomFox has let me be in charge of something very cool as a Christmas present for you and me - the hitman community map! In early 2026, she is going to be making a custom modded map based on our ideas and would love lots of them on this topic here.

We want your ideas on what the theme and location of the map could be to start off with. Try to keep it relatively small and manageable!
Maybe a flowery castle ruin or a midnight blossom forest (#subtleTeaser!) or something not blossomey at all.

Designing a Hitman map from scratch with multiple different ideas to chose from is quite the task, so I’ll try lay some things out and make this a more collaborative venture. We are going to start off with the map idea and theme before deciding on one or merging some ideas together and then come up with the characters, mission stories and more. Do share any of those ideas if you have really good ones though!

Really cool idea! I try to think of something small. I think we all agree we need a proper winter map. :joy:

Maybe an extension of the ICA facility? You could reuse some assets of it. I am thinking of something that connects the silo where the yacht/hangar missions happen with the Arrival helipad. In between some windowless offices, maybe cave. Not sure where a bigger snow area could be added there though.

Idea for DLC. Place of action Carpathians (although it is completely irrelevant)
47 is lying unconscious on a train. To regain consciousness he needs to go deep into his subconscious and find a way out into the real world.

1st mission. Primitive society (Far cry Primal style)
Targets: Cannibal Chief, Shaman.
Location description: Three-level cave, primitive settlement around the cave, two-level temple of Shaman. Winter, it’s snowing. noon
Level -1. Dungeon and Kitchen. In the dungeon, there are prisoners in cages. 2 cages are suspended by a rope above the ceiling. One of them has a skeleton in it, the other has a dead npc. The entrance is guarded by guards. There is dampness and mold everywhere. There are spiders crawling on the walls. The sound of falling drops can be heard. The kitchen is divided into two sections. A fire where the chief’s personal cook cooks human meat. And a refrigerated room where the cut-up bodies of people hang. There is a secret passage: a staircase leading to the chieftain’s chambers (level 1). The kitchen is lit by torches.
Level 0: Throne Room. A circular room, with a throne of swords and skulls and a bonfire in the center. Around the fire are animal skins (seating). Behind the throne is a staircase of skulls and bones leading to the chief’s quarters.
Around the throne room: a servant’s room, a guard room, a weapons storehouse, a food storehouse.
Outside the cave is a primitive settlement with campfires, huts, and various NPCs. Some are sewing animal skins, some are cooking food, some are sleeping, two drunks are punching each other in the face.
The Shaman’s temple stands alone. It’s enclosed by a stone fence. It is guarded by armed priests. Inside: an idol of the deity Cthulhu, a sacrificial altar on which lies a bound victim in a blue robe and a mask on his face. Also in the temple is a separate room where the shaman tries to create a potion, periodically he comes to the victim and leaves to vomit. Also inside the temple are a few immobile priests, some are standing, some are squatting and are unconscious under the influence of the shaman’s potion. There is also an abyss, above the abyss hangs a ladder leading to level 0 and a secret passage to the dungeon.
Level 1.
The chieftain’s chambers consist of: living room The chieftain sits on the skin of a slain animal, concubines feed him grapes. The chief is drinking beer. A mammoth head hangs above him.
Bedroom: a small room with a window, the bed consists of the hide of a saber-toothed tiger. NPC Concubine makes the bed. There is also a hole in the floor: a toilet.
Open space: a waterfall and a natural hot spring in the form of a small pool, with steam coming from the water. There is a liana that can be used to climb down to level 0.

Starting Points.
Primitive settlement, under cover of the disguise of a primitive man.
Shaman’s temple: under cover of the priest’s disguise.
Dungeon: under cover of disguise Prisoner.
Throne room: warrior.
Chieftain’s chamber: Servant.
Disguises: primitive man’s costume, warrior, chief’s servant, captive, victim(lying on the altar in blue clothes and with a mask on her face. If you shoot her, the NPC will come to life, throw off his clothes and run away. It’s Agent Smith with a beard. You can change into the disguise he left behind), the chief’s cook, a shaman, and the deity Cthulhu.
Exits:

  1. Go into one of the huts of the settlement, lie down and fall asleep.
  2. Statue of Cthulhu: silver smoke appears and 47 disappears.
  3. Bird’s Nest: an eagle flies in and takes 47 to the unknown.
  4. Throne (you need the key of the leader) fly on the throne in the sky, like a rocket.
  5. Jump off the cliff and get on the back of a mammoth, riding him on top of the ice.
  6. Flintstone’s car (dig up three secret items).
Weapons and inventory: shooting tube, slingshot, clay pot with fire (fire accident), stingray fish (electro-tizer), bone lock pick, rope (fiber wire), club, stone knife, ancient propane tank, poisons, remains of a primordial duck.

Behavioral goals and opportunities.
Leader.
Drinks cold beer from a goblet and takes a piss in the toilet. Concubines feed him grapes. After the fourth cup drunk, wants to eat meat. He calls the cook by pulling a string to which a bell is tied. The cook arrives, the angry chief yells at him and demands meat. The cook gives him a bone of meat, the chief takes a bite and slaps the cook. Where are the spices? The chief asks.
Oh yes, my lord, I have prepared something special for you.
Here’s the randoms:

  1. The cook adds a bitter slimy toad - the chief goes to vomit, then kills the cook.
  2. Sour vinegar essence chief dies, cook escapes.
  3. Honey valerian root: chief faints (sedative effect) cook escapes.
  4. Ground salted fern: The chief laughs, burps and gives the cook an ancient knife as a token of gratitude. Afterward, he goes to take a bath.
If you stun the cook and change into his disguise, you can spice the bone and meat to your liking, all 4 spices are stored in the cook’s kitchen. If you poison or kill a chieftain in the chef’s disguise, that disguise becomes illegal on the entire location.

Also the chief can be eliminated by throwing a stingray fish into a hot spring. blowing up the bottom.

Assembly. If you blow on the mammoth tusk in the throne room, the shaman with two guards and the chief with two guards will go to the throne room. A plan to attack a neighboring settlement will be discussed. The chief will sit on the throne and the shaman and his guards on skins around the fire. After the discussion, the chief and the shaman will go into seclusion and the shaman will slit the chief’s throat and throw him into the abyss.
Possibilities: blow up the chief’s throne (explosive accident) under the propane throne. Drop the chandelier while the chief is descending the stairs. Drop a mammoth skull on the shaman and the chief at the same time, during their private conversation.

Shaman.
The Shaman brews potions in his ancient laboratory. Sneezes periodically. Then goes to the altar with a bound victim, curses that it smells like dead fish, and goes to vomit. Then he goes to prepare a potion that can destroy the smell of dead fish. If you throw a black brick (which can be taken in several places on the location), it will go black smoke and the leader will go to the temple to look at the ceremony of sacrifice to the god Cthulhu. If he smells fish, he will kill the shaman.

Possibilities. Revive the victim, by gunshot or otherwise. The victim will stand up, thank 47go undress and run away. The victim will also throw away a sacrificial knife and a dead fish. You can change into a victim, throw away the fish and then during the secret sacrifice kill first the chief and then the shaman (as in the mission Sgail). If they are not killed, after the ceremony there will be a private conversation, during which the chief will push the shaman into the abyss.
Test - the shaman’s apprentice. Come to the shaman, talk to him, he asks you to show your abilities. Carry out the ritual and then choose what way to kill the shaman burn fire (causing fire from under the ground), electricity lightning falls into the shaman, heavenly punishment - the head of a mammoth falls from the sky and kills the shaman. If you do not kill the shaman, you can push him off a cliff during a conversation.

Exit: the Flintstones’ car.

If we want to go down the Winter/Snow location theme.

Maybe we could have a Soviet (or NATO or something) bunker/base.

You could use things like the trees and foliage from Hokkaido and Berlin (hell, keep Berlin and make the mission be set in the forest there?)

A winter airport map is a dream I’ve always wanted to see,

For my suggestion: a remote, money laundering facility that produces packaged cookies in the heart of snowy Irkutsk. Many possibilities. A rogue, molten frosting machine. Falling in a vat of churning batter. Getting sucked into malfunctioning machinery. Then, there’s the outside where you can roam the frosty forest and building or two. That’s all I got off the top of my head. Not sure who the targets would be, but it would be a legitimate snowy map.

That’s more than what you asked for though, oops

I’m down for a snowy map  to help incorporate any conflicting suggestions, it could be a medium sized map with different areas. Like a forest (like from the ending cutscenes of Mendoza and Dartmoor) in one area, and a compound somewhere else.

Much as I’d love an airport, I think that would end up being the whole map, so maybe an airstrip and related buildings?

A medieval ski town in the foothills of the Austrian alps would be gorgeous, kind of like a snowy Sapienza. Cobblestone streets and pointed roofs, a forest nearby and lodge

I’m loving the ideas, thank you so much forum friends! It makes me so happy to be making something with you all <3 :pink_heart:

I’m actually making a wintery and snowy secret project at the moment so maybe a spring theme with some flowers, greenery and a bit of leftover snow could work!

Another thing you all seem to like is a forrest section and a village or town. I think one of those would allow for lots of ideas to be combined really nicely as well as it being a lovely idea that is right up my alley!

I’m not too fond of a military theme myself (sorry @Charlie_Farmer my minecraft friend, love the forrest idea though), but @v1deost’s idea (love your new masterpiece) of a cookie money laundering scheme could maybe be hidden away in the woods near the town?

Or we could go with an airport map!! I’ll ping drib (@Dribbleondo boop) to share your ideas too. I know you mentioned wanting one on the discord. An airport has been a long requested fan fav idea so it could be a good choice.

Thank you @Fenixsandr for sharing your idea here too. I think it is very detailed and uniquely themed but that also means it is super hard to integrate it into the final map location with ideas from everyone else. :pink_heart:

Keep on sharing your ideas! Thank you so much :fox:

Seconded. I like snowy maps in general. A ski slope in Switzerland or Austria would be a good choice.

It’s basically a massive in-joke at this point. I think IO have actually expressed why this is really hard to do (NPC’s don’t quite understand how locked doors and frisk zones work, which in a busy terminal is hard to replicate).

I initially assumed it was because of the optics of letting players blow up an airport, but given the Hitman 2 & 3 maps, I’m thinking it’s a question of variety. These maps have multiple areas to interest you, instead of Hitman 1 where the whole level is a hotel or a hospital (Sapienza not included). If you’re not into the race at Miami, there’s a waterfront and a convention center. If you’re not into the railyard of Mumbai, there’s the construction site.
An airport would take a large map and would have no variety in its design beyond airport-related stuff. I’d love to have one but don’t think it’ll be on the cards, sadly

I’m thinking of an English archelogical society’s gala in Egypt where the society president and a US General are conspiring to smuggle artifacts.

Or a level where you get to bust an organ trafficking ring in an ICE facility.
