There is a way to turn auto aim off in a console version but it works only by editing the game files.
All you have to do is to open .cfg file and change aimspeedtoggle to autoaimtoggle

I don’t play an emulated version, but with the physical disc so can’t exactly alter the game files.

I have no idea how I’d even go about making a copy of a tiny GCN disc. Anyway, it doesn’t matter. Basement Killing is no slower grabbing the Axe, so I just have to deal with an annoying Bazaar level.

… And for that matter, my laptop doesn’t even have a disc tray anymore. Even if I could get a hold of the tiny discs, I wouldn’t be able to write the game file onto it.

Funny. I don’t think you realise that I play on the GameCube. They have special discs making it near impossible. Especially now laptops don’t include CD drives.

I always presumed it´s meant to make it easier for you to reach the mosque itself (though it´s been ages since I played it, so I can´t confirm). If you take the shot from the walls there, you can jump straight down by the exit, which makes it very advantageous. Not sure if it helps avoid needing a disguise - never tried that.
