Death Stranding 2 getting a new update on PS5 when it also drops on PC this week (March 19!)

New “super hard” difficulty
New items
New scenes such as new “Nightmares” Sam can have
New live-action scenes (weird, DS2 didn’t have any live-action scenes before anyway?)
Replay Neil boss battles whenever you want
Added the Chiral Cat to appear in Sam’s room (I bet you can pet it)
Not the trailer, but a cool look at behind-the-scenes!

To the Wilder difficulty locks your selection and you can’t turn it down. You will have to face “merciless environments filled with deadly enemies”.

Very vague, but “new fieldware including new Bandanas” which you can earn by completing the new “Trapped in a Strange Realm” VR Training levels, which are replays of the Neil boss battles.

the “Chiral Feline” will appear in Sam’s room and you can add it as a decoration in Photo Mode.

Playstation 5 will get 21:9 ultra-wide monitor support.

PC will exclusively get access to Ray Tracing mode. (This will be the first Decima Engine game with Ray Tracing!)

PS5 will get this automatically with the update, but players on PC who connect their PSN account will get a bonus PS patch, and a Playstation-Blue porter suit.

I just got to experience my first example of the targeted discount system on PS5, where The Last of Us Part 1 shows up as $57.99 for me instead of the regular $69.99
I think it should really be identified clearer, as on both the website and the store on PS5 it doesn’t really look like it’s a special discount. Probably have this discount because I have the PS5 version of TLOU2, or maybe it’s cause of owning the PS4 version of TLOU1.
I mean it’s cool to get a little bonus, and these sorts of discounts will probably be great for people who buy full price games often, but for me it’s not very effective. Sony knows I’ve had the game on my wishlist for several years, but if I wasn’t willing to get it for $29.39 why would I get it for $57.99? I really doubt when it does go on sale again I’ll get an extra 17.14% discount reducing it further, the Steam complete the set bundles are the only place I’ve seen that really gives a double discount like that.
