They’re Swiss! (but could be considered german music)
Well, maybe three of them and their oft overlooked cousin “Conquer”. I guess “Pestilence” was too busy to form a techno group with his brothers…
I mean, yeah, I suppose Pestilence was busy spreading COVID around. Still, 3 out of 4 ain’t bad!
Maybe that’s what IO was going for; there are references to the pandemic if you play with the radios in that level, after all. Still doesn’t explain “Conquer” but I guess they still wanted four and needed a filler or something…
Yello were Swiss weren’t they?
Well, in looking further into it, the original four horsemen were Conquest, Famine, War and Death. Conquer and Conquest are pretty close. Pestilence was a variant that was added in 1906 so really, Conquer/Conquest is truer to the original biblical version. Also, at least according to Google Translate, the symbols for conquer and conquest are the same.
IO went deep into biblical lore just to make an underground techno/dubstep group for a single level of a video game about contract killing.
I looked into “Conquest” more and it’s even more interesting than just the change to “Pestilence” (which may or may not have to do with differing interpretations of the bible passages concerning the introductions of the horsemen). Apparently, “Conquest” was viewed positively until 1866. He was initially viewed as representative of the Holy Spirit and/or as Christ himself until some clown named Wimpel started associating him with the Antichrist (and Napoleon Bonaparte for some reason).
All four of them were viewed positively once upon a time. They were originally seen as bearers of the Revelation and would bring about the end of days. Of course if you were a devout Christian at the time, that was a good thing because you’d be swept up into Heaven and all the evil sinners would be punished. Still rather amazing that IOI dredged that up just to give some names to a dutch techno band in the basement of an old power plant. Their back story literally has no bearing to the level at all, yet he we are discussing their names, nationality, and the meaning behind them.
HITMAN 3 is currently on sale for PSN platform with a deal of 50% off for the Deluxe edition. I started HITMAN 2 earlier and found out the main menu will be updated too whenever a sale is going on.
Unfortunately, that’s the only thing that has been updated for the old game since.
Get a load of the weird Lee Hong/47 hybrid from the Codename: 47 instruction manual!
Fun fact : you can do the same if you put the micro taser in a mailbox in Another Life. The npc pockets the taser and walks around with it.
It’s pretty useful for Cassidy and completely breaks the A Bitter Pill bonus mission.
In the same range : we can now remotely kill Yuki Yamazaki by dropping the sedative gum in the sauna. She will eat it, pass out and pass away.
Who in their right mind would eat gum, they found on floor of a sauna. Warm sauna floor gum.
IOI really wants to make the target as despicable as possible. Horrible people with horrible habits. It’s the only possibility.
I’ve hidden the ‘Mix-Tape 47’ in between the wooden lattices in the sauna. Yuki won’t be able to see it, but she’ll hear it and stay in there while she roasts alive. You can also place it on the other side of the glass and activate it. I did this quite a bit in H2 trying to work out a simultaneous (but separate) kill for both targets (which never really panned out).
Seems Santis can pick up anything. She can even pick up poison jar, drink it and died.Never succeed in any other guy who pick up glass and drink.
I wonder if it’s because of a jurry rigged animation specific to the need of the situation to assure a smooth flow.
I think drinking is normally a distinct nod in the NPC routine and have sometimes a sort of a hashed feel. But here De Santis drinks while she is talking and moving around with very unique animations.
I know it happens in other level, but it could have been one the first one made in the development cycle, with rougher specifications and this quirk as the consequence.
As if instead of having “go to this position, drink while talking but you will then use the default drinking animation” we have “do this set of animation and you need to drink in the middle of it but because you can’t do the grab a glass command without using the default animation we will have to use the closest thing we have with a grab unspecified item and use command”.
It’s fascinating, @ColdDayInHell had a fantastic find here. I would be very curious to know what happens here.
I admit I have eaten stuff I found on the floor but all of 'em still sealed like the bubble gum pack. :B
If some of us may recall, when we had the H1 ET, The Entertainer… You could get him over to the small area where he can’t get out. If he’s KO’d, then a guard wakes him - he dies.
In Chongqing, there is a similar spot (maybe more than 1) where you can dump a body. If a guard wakes them up they will die. One place is outside of Hush’s therapy room. You can dump a body onto the scaffolding. There is also a similar scaffolding where Hush and Emegeen(sp?) meet.
Not that these spots are useful for anything. You’ll lose SA if a KO’d body is found… But it’s there if someone wanted to do that for whatever reason.
I found this a few days ago. I’m just now remembering to post about it.
